ENGELBERT AUER
1930 - 2008

MR. ENGELBERT H. AUER, beloved husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Auer of
Lethbridge passed away at the Good Samaritan Society, Park Meadows
Village on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the age of 77 years.
Engelbert leaves behind his loving wife Elizabeth of 55 years. He
also leaves behind his sons Henry, Hubert and Richard (Barb),
grandchildren; Christina, Chelsey, Courtney, Riley, Delaney and
Drake and great grandchild Mickey. He is also survived by his sister
Juliana (Rudy), brothers Sepp (Helga), Audi (Frida) and Resi (Bruno)
as well as nieces and nephews in Austria.
Engelbert was born in Graz, Austria on October 24, 1930. His passion
for this Bavarian upbringing of traditional folk culture, castles
and fortresses that he grew up around, his love of the music and
dance and of the mountain trails that he would go wandering on were
spoken of often around his sons, grandchildren and friends. His love
of nature and the outdoors, hunting and fishing, westerns and nature
movies and trips to Banff and Waterton were always a highlight for
Engelbert.
Engelbert immigrated to Canada in the summer of 1952 and married
Elizabeth on November 8, 1952 and started a family. He worked for
the railroad for 3 years and then Bird Building supplies for 7
years. In 1967 Bert started with Canbra Foods, serving them for 23
years before retiring in 1991. He enjoyed his retirement years with
Elizabeth, his sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and friends.

FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Tuesday,
June 3, 2008 from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME on
Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Richard Brown
officiating.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

MARY
ALEXANDROVICH
2008

MARY ALEXANDROVICH, beloved wife of the late Fabian Alexandrovich,
passed away at the Edith Cavell Nursing Home with her family at her
side on Friday, February 22, 2008 at the age of 90 years.
Mary was born on a homestead in Saskatchewan and raised and educated
in Coaldale where she met and married her husband Fabian. They lived
in several small towns in Southern Saskatchewan and Alberta before
retiring in Lethbridge in 1974.
Mary was a very active and caring person with a wonderful sense of
humour. She loved gardening, quilting, reading, playing cards and
traveling. She devoted many years to volunteering with the 4H Club,
Southland Nursing Home and Meals on Wheels and was a member of the
CWL. Her life was centered around her family and many friends.
She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and her
grandchildren. Her eight great grandchildren; Abi, Will, Jack,
Andrew, Sarah, Ian, Bijou and Aiden had a very special place in her
heart.
Mary is survived by her daughter Gladys (John) Reive and son Robert
(Sharon), eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren,
son-in-law Calvin Agnoo, sister Rose Zalaski, brother Michael
Patapoff, sister-in-law Myrtle Patapoff and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Fabian, infant son Ronald,
daughter Jeanette, parents Michael and Fanny, brothers George, Bill
and John, sister Florence and sister-in-law Dorothy.
Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.

Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Thursday, February 28, 2008
at 7:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION

February 29, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.

KAY AUDET
1924 - 2008

MRS. KATHLEEN MARIE AUDET (nee Boudreau) beloved wife of Mr.
Clarence Audet of Milk River, passed away peacefully surrounded by
love at the Milk River Hospital on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at
the age of 83 years.
Kay met her husband Clarence on Valentine’s Day in 1941 at the Last
Sands Ranch and they were married for 66 wonderful years. Kay was
born in Mutrie, Saskatchewan on June 27, 1924 but called Southern
Alberta home. She worked side by side with Clarence farming,
ranching and raising their children; Lorrie Howe, Roy (Chris) Audet,
Diann (Moe) Bissonnette and Annette Audet-Johansen. Love cannot even
describe how she felt about her grandchildren; Brie Bissonnette,
Daniel, Adrian and Jesse Audet, Dana, Greg, Amber, Ashley, Sara and
Beau Johansen.
Kay had many pastimes and hobbies, among them; snowmobiling,
picnicking, golfing and cheering on the grandchildren at their many
sporting events. She also took time to give back to the community
through many volunteer positions including those with the church,
hospital and Alberta Cancer Foundation. Kay loved sewing, knitting
and crocheting and was known for the many afghans, quilts and
preemie toques she made over the years. She was never happier than
when family and friends would drop over for a meal, a game of cards
or just a visit. Kay was a true friend and neighbour to all who met
her and will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main
Street, Milk River, on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.
with Reverend Joseph T. Kalathiparambil officiating.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Kathleen, donations may be made

DUSTY ABERDEEN
2008
PHILLIP (DUSTY) ABERDEEN JR. of the Blood Reserve, passed away at
the Fort Macleod Extendicare, on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the
age of 59 years.
Dusty is survived by his children Marilyn (Corey) Good Striker of
the Blood reserve, Beverly (Lester) Twigg of Calgary, Jody (Wes)
White Quills of Calgary, Dana (Jessica) White Quills of Lethbridge,
Dustin Meguinnis of Sarcee, seventeen grandchildren and three great
grandchildren. Dusty was predeceased by his parents Phillip and
Daisy Aberdeen, his brothers Edman, Ivan, Lester, and Gabriel, by
his sisters Virginia and Mary, by his nephew Mathew, great grandson
Seth and by his common law wife Patricia White Quills. The family
would like to thank the staff at the Fort Macleod Extendicare for
the wonderful care Dusty received.
A Wake Service will be held at WHITE CALF CHAPEL, Standoff, on
Tuesday, January 29, 2008 from 6:00 P.M. TO 11:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at WHITE CALF CHAPEL, Standoff, on
Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Pawel
Andrasz officiating.

2008
MRS. HELEN ALEXANDER, beloved wife of the late Mr. William
Alexander, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on
Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the age of 76 years.
Helen is survived by her son Bill (Marilyn) and their son Robb and
daughter Heather (Chris) Wozniczko and their children Chandee, Josh
and Brandon as well as great grandson Jayden. She is also survived
by a loving family in Scotland.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family prior to

ARMSTRONG
2007

KATHLEEN ANN “BUNNY” ARMSTRONG nee Longbotham, passed away suddenly
in Coaldale on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the age of 45 years.
She is survived by her husband Brett, children Michael and Emily of
Coaldale, parents Ron and Ann Longbotham of Calgary, siblings Dawn
Mysyk, Samantha (Thomas) Homer, Bob (Tara) Longbotham and Chris
Longbotham all of Calgary as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Kathleen was born and raised in Calgary and attended school at
Hillhurst Elementary and Queen Elizabeth High School. She was a
certified reflexologist, studied shiatsu and was a certified
instructor of touch health and taught at LCC. She was currently
working as a caregiver for Rehoboth. She loved to sing and play the
piano, write poetry, do handicrafts and stitch work. She loved all
creatures, especially her birds.
She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Friends may meet with the family at the Church prior to the Funeral
Service from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF
LATTER DAY SAINTS, 2216 – 12 A Avenue, Coaldale on Tuesday, December
4, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Robert Shimbashi officiating.
Interment to follow at the Magrath Cemetery.

RITA ALBRECHT
2007
RITA
ALBRECHT, beloved wife of Michael Albrecht of Milk River, passed
away peacefully at the Milk River Hospital on Monday, August 6, 2007
at the age of 79 years.
Rita was born in Calgary, Alberta on June 11, 1928. She lived and
was educated in Milk River, Pincher Creek and Medicine Hat. She
worked and taught in Iron Springs and at the Hutterville Colony.
She and Mike were married in 1948 and moved to Vancouver for 2
years; they were married for 53 years.
Rita was predeceased by her father Mr. Arvid Albrecht of San Luis
Obispo, California.
She is survived by her four children; Dan Albrecht (Judy Devoe),
Peggy Anne (Todd) Meeter, Marcus Albrecht and Carol (Arnie) Bergen
Henegouwen, 3 grandchildren; Dalin Meeter, Kate Albrecht and Rebecca
Albrecht as well as her brother Michael (Nancy) Bardell of Surrey,
B.C.
In 1956, Rita and Mike pursued their dreams of becoming farmers and
raising their children on a farm. They became involved in home,
school and the Warner Memorial Church; Rita always loved children so
what better chance to be involved then to work in the Church Sunday
School.
In 2000,
Rita and Mike moved to Milk River to retire. Rita loved the Lord
and believed in being thankful.
