JOSEPH PAUL HENRI DENIS NADEAU

JOSEPH PAUL HENRI DENIS NADEAU beloved husband of Diane Evelyn Nadeau passed away at home on Saturday April 4, 2009 at the age of 61 years.
Besides his loving wife Diane, he is the father of Michelle (Del) Nikoleychuk and Karen Bottomley; grandson, Chad Nikoleychuk. He is also survived by: two brothers, six sisters and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents, Phil Telesphore and Marie Marthe.
A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Lloyd Kohl officiating.

MARGARET NEUFELD
1926 - 2009


MARGARET K. NEUFELD beloved wife of the late Jacob K. Neufeld passed away at the St. Michaels Health Center on Saturday April 4, 2009 at the age of 82 years.
She is survived by her children; Mirium (Francis) Torscher of Raymond, Jacqueline Wallin of Calgary and Randy (Linda) Neufeld of Lethbridge; eight grandchildren; Tom (Gena) Kotke of Lethbridge, Darren (Debbie) Kotke of Raymond, Ramona (Tom) Gapp of St. Albert, Jerri (Owen) Peters of Lethbridge, Wade Forster of Calgary, Angie (Scott) Imler of Calgary, Amanda and Joshua Neufeld both of Lethbridge; eight great grandchildren: Adam Forster, Kennedy Imler, Matthew Imler, Zachary Kotke, Mikayla Kotke, Keana Kotke, Noah Gapp and Sarah Gapp; six brothers and two sisters and their respective families.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Jacob and her parents Peter and Margaret Friesen.
Margaret was born December 18, 1926 in McMahon, SK. After spending 8 of her early years in Mexico, she returned to Saskatchewan and married Jacob in 1944. They moved to Alberta where they raised their family and worked alongside each other. Together they were an inseparable team for over 62 years. Margaret was an avid gardener and a great bread maker. She was a very hard working woman who was a humble, modest person and was loved dearly by her family. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family and took great joy in the family get-togethers. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered.
A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Larry Hankinson officiating. A Private Family Interment will precede the service.

LINDA NEIS
1948 - 2009


LINDA ANN NEIS, passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre, after a brief battle with cancer on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the age of 60 years. Linda is the loving wife of Jack Neis and the wonderful mother to Garnet (Lori), of Lethbridge, AB, Marty (Melissa), of Brooks, AB and the proud nana of Mackenzie, Jayson and Ross.
Linda is remembered by her siblings, Rose of Wetaskiwin, AB, Lawrence (Lorna) of Edmonton, AB, Ned (Barb) of Hobbema, AB, Glen (Antonette) of Calgary, AB, Marlene (Doug) of Cayley, AB, Pat (Sam) Goodfish Lake, AB Dennis (Loretta) of Lloydminster, AB, as well as her chosen family, parents Jim and Marion Mackenzie of Mirror, AB, and siblings, Herb (Laura) of Redwater, AB, Bonnie of Mirror, AB, Jim (Kim) of Beaumont, AB, Cindy (Ed) of Mirror, AB, and Murray (Cathy) of Red Deer, AB.
Linda is also survived by her brothers in-law Bill (Marlene) of Mirror, AB, Doug (Jeanne) of Spruce Grove, AB, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by biological parents Leonard and Julia Wolfe, sister Heather Mackenzie, father in-law, Henry Neis and mother in-law, Barbara Switner.
Linda was born November 9, 1948 in Lacombe, AB. Attending school in Mirror and Alix, graduating in 1969. In July of 1971, Linda married Jack, living in Edmonton and Spruce Grove until moving to Lethbridge in 1979, where she resided until her passing. Linda had a passion for crafts and did custom knitting and crocheting for many years. Linda enjoyed time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, March 19, 2009 At 7:00 P.M. with Reverend Mr. Cliff Bogdan, Officiating. Interment will take place at Mirror Cemetery.
No flowers by family request.

JOHN NAKAMURA
1937 - 2008
JOHN “SOONER” NAKAMURA, of Coaldale, AB, passed away suddenly in Lethbridge on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the age of 71 years.
John is survived by his son Clayton (Kerry) Nakamura and their children Megan, Nick and Carter, of Spruce Grove, AB; his son Richard Nakamura of Lethbridge; his daughter Charmaine Nakamura of Airdrie, AB; and their mother Ruby Nakamura of Airdrie, AB. John is also survived by his brother Bud Nakamura of Whitehorse, YK; his sisters Mary (Su) Yamamoto of Winnipeg, MB; his sister Mina Nakamura of Japan; and by his nieces and nephews and their families.
John was born in Matsqui, B.C. in 1937 and moved to southern Alberta with his family. John started farming later and worked in road construction until retiring in 2000.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Major Brian Beveridge officiating.

MIYOKO (MIYO) NISHIDA, beloved wife of Walter Nishida of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on September 17th, 2008.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her children Paul of Lethbridge, Alberta; Terry (Teresa) of Chilliwack, B.C.; Maureen of Lethbridge, Alberta; Michael of Brooks, Alberta; and her grandchildren Logan and Lauren of Chilliwack B.C.
She is also survived by George (Emma) Fujimura of Surrey, B.C.; Bill Fujimura of Burnaby, B.C.; and Anna Higashi of Greenwood, B.C.; as well as many nieces and nephews and her loved friends.
Miyoko was predeceased by her parents Tome and Taichira Fujimura; her sister Myrna Sano and her brothers Hitosh Fujimura and Sam Fujimura; and her son Timothy Nishida.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta, on Thursday September 25, 2008 at 11:00 A.M with Reverend Canon Allan McCuaig officiating.

JONATHAN (JON) NEWMAN
2008


Jon Newman passed away on August 8, 2008, at the age of 47 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Jeremy and Jodi, their mother Cathy, his mother June, sisters Ellen, Lori, brothers Randy, Roderick, and their families. He was predeceased by sister Lynda and brother Adrian.
Jon was a kind-hearted and adventurous free-spirit who enjoyed nature and the outdoors, and valued time spent with friends and family.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. As per Jon’s wish friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life and share stories and memories, on Saturday, August 16, 2008, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bo’diddly’s Pub & Grill, Lethbridge.

JOE NASSAR
2008


JOE NASSAR, beloved husband of Carolyn Nassar, of Lethbridge passed away at home on Monday, July 7, 2008 at the age of 55 years.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Katherine Nassar, his son David Nassar and a grandson Zakkary Watson. He is also survived by his father Elias Nassar of London, Ontario, a brother Tony (Elaine) Nassar of London, Ontario, several nieces, nephews, cousins, Joe, Carmen and Lilly and many, many special friends.
Joe was predeceased by his mother Lillian and a sister Rosie Holmes.
Joe was born in Alexandria, Egypt and traveled to Canada at the age of five. He lived in Lethbridge for 30 years where he met and married his soul mate Carolyn. Joe graduated from the University of Lethbridge and later worked at the Rehabilitation Society as an Employment Counselor. Finding gainful employment, Joe was known for his support and help with his clients. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who made lifelong friends wherever he went. His family was his special joy. Joe will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Joe’s life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 1:00 P.M..

MAXINE NAY
2008


BEATRICE MAXINE NAY, beloved wife of the late Elliot Nay, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, April 14, 2008 at the age of 97 years.
She is survived by her children George (Kay) Nay of Cardston, Dale (Lois) Nay of Jefferson and Marlene (Alex) Ivanco of Lethbridge, sisters Ethel Anderson and Edith Miller as well as 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Anna Katherine Wood, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Maxine was born in Banff and was raised in Barons and Woolford. There she met and married Elliot and together they moved to Jefferson where they settled on the family farm. They then moved to Lethbridge where they retired 30 years ago. Some of Maxine’s fondest memories were of her time in Rio Grand Valley, her trips to Hawaii and R.V camping.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:00 P.M.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

ASHLEY MARIE NEELS passed away in Iron Springs on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the age of 20 years.
Ashley is survived by her son Brodie, mother Sandy (Monti), brother Wesley, father Jim, Opa’s and Oma’s Ann and Walter Ankermann and Joost and Maria Neels, Aunts and Uncles; Tony (Kim) Ankermann, Dave (Katie) Ankermann and their children Lukas, Nicholas and Mitchell, Angie (Rob) VanderHeyden and their children Haylee, Amanda and Jessie, Tunte Ellie (Gary), Tunte Wanda (Hubert), Gloria (John) and Jason, Matilda and family, Mike (Freda) Neels, Pete (Wilma) Neels, Dave (Nancy) Neels, Mattie and Ben Bisshop, Lena (Chris) Adams, Joe (Tammy) Neels, John (Helen) Neels, Wim (Wilma) Neels and Mart (Pauline) Neels as well as numerous other cousins from both sides of the family.
She was predeceased by her great grandparents Gram and Grampa Csiki, Opa and Oma Ankerman and Uncle Ed Brenner.
Ashley Marie Neels was born in Lethbridge on June 6, 1987 and was loved by all who knew her. She was a dedicated and loving mommy to her son Brodie who turned 1 in February. She loved daisies, music and animals, especially the “Misfits”. Ashley kept everyone on their toes and always voiced her opinion when she had something to say. She loved her new job and new co-workers and was looking forward to the summer and new beginnings. Ashley looked forward to a new day and new adventures with her son, family and friends. She loved her family and bugging her little brother Wes. She was a beautiful young lady with a lot of spunk and she always had a smile on her face, especially when it came to Brodie and uncle Tony.
Ashley will be sadly missed by her son, mother, brother, father, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and all those near and dear to her. Thank you to family and friends for all their support and prayers at this time.

KART NIRK

KART NIRK passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008 after a lengthy illness at the age of 98 years.
Kart was laid to rest at a private Graveside Service beside her late husband Helmut at Mountain View Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to her Extendicare Lethbridge staff and family, who made her feel at home in her later years.

ROBERT NO RUNNER
1964 - 2008


Maatsu’wani’kapi – ‘Honorable Young Man’
Robert was called home to the Creator on March 2, 2008. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie, his children Shaylee, Lane (Talyssa) and Shania and step-sons Shamus (Bessie) and Guy Vaughn, who he raised and loved as his own. He was Papa to Pacen, Lexi, Tanner and Talon.
Robert was born on August 23, 1964, to Lawrence No Runner and Marina Buckskin. He was a loving brother to Maryann, Sandra (Chris), Delvin (Roni), Cheryl (Julius) and Clayton (Sandra). He will be remembered for the gentle, loving person he was throughout his lifetime of 43 years.
He was raised in the Old Agency area of the Blood reserve, where he continued to live throughout his lifetime. Robert received his schooling in Lethbridge and St. Mary’s High School. He underwent training and gained his Agricultural Certificate and completed Correction Officer Training in Edmonton. He was a bus driver for the Blood Reserve Bus Co-op and received two awards for Driver of the Year.
In his younger years, he was a natural athlete, known for his speed and agility. Whatever sport he took on, he always excelled. Robert’s true calling was that of a horseman, he was gifted with a natural ability in working with race horses. His expertise led to many victories for his uncle Don and his racing Quarter horses. Robert made many lasting friendships on the race track.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 22 years, Marie, (whom he referred to as ‘Babe’), and their children who he loved with all his heart. Above all, Robert was a devoted father and took great pride in his children’s accomplishments be it a graduation or a hockey game. Robert always only gave words of encouragement.
Robert will be best remembered for his never ending humor as there was never a dull moment while in his company. He loved to make people laugh and share in his happiness. He leaves behind his many buddies with whom he had many good times.
Throughout his lifetime he amassed many friendships and touched all with his genuine caring nature.
We, his family and extended family were truly blessed to have known Robert; he was an integral member of our family, always so courteous and willing to give a helping hand. He will be forever missed.
Robert was predeceased by his father, Lawrence and his brothers Brian and Darrell, his nephew Roddy, his paternal grandparents Robert and Helen No Runner, and maternal grandparents Reggie and Gladys Buckskin; cousin Lindsey Medicine Crane and his brother-in-law, Shawn Healy and grandma-in-law Fanny Healy.
A Wake Service will be held at OLD AGENCY HALL, Blood Reserve on Friday, March 7, 2008 from 7:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at OLD AGENCY HALL, Blood Reserve on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Michael Tipper officiating.
Interment to follow at Old Agency Cemetery.

ABRAHAM NEUFELD
1927 - 2008


NEUFELD, ABRAHAM, beloved husband of Bernice Neufeld of Coaldale, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the age of 80 years.
Besides his loving wife he is survived by his sons James and Timothy Neufeld of Coaldale as well as five grand children and three great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his daughter Linda Neufeld.
Abe was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan in 1927 and moved to the Lethbridge area in 1950. Abe was the second oldest in a family of eleven siblings of Abram and Mary Neufeld. Abe always enjoyed operating and maintaining heavy equipment and was an avid outdoorsman. Abe will be sorely missed by his friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held at the COALDALE UNITED CHURCH, 2022 – 18th Street, Coaldale on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 2:00 P.M.

KAREN NICHOLSON
1971 - 2007


MS. DR. KAREN NICHOLSON of Lethbridge, beloved daughter, sister, friend and teacher passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle against cancer on Monday, November 5, 2007 at the age of 36 years.
Karen is survived by her parents Ted and Margaret Nicholson as well as brother Cameron (Jennifer).
Karen was born in Vancouver, B.C. in 1971 and moved to Lethbridge where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of the University of Lethbridge, continuing her studies at Western University in London, Ontario where she received her MSc and PhD, then proceeded to Queens University for post doctoral studies. In 2002, Karen joined the faculty at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick.
A Private Family Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME.
A Celebration of Karen’s life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge for friends and family on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

JUNE NADON
1931 - 2007


JUNE NADON, beloved friend of John Dowding of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the age of 76 years.
She is survived by her daughter Jill (Garry) Tomlinson of Rimbey, Alberta, grandsons Garrett (Cynthia) and Darren (Amy), granddaughter Stacy (John), great granddaughter Kayleigh and great grandson Zachary.
She was predeceased by her husbands Lorne Nadon and Garry Coyle and daughter Barbara Gail Nadon.
June was born in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba on June 27, 1931 and was raised on the family farm. In 1951 she married Lorne Nadon and traveled the world with the Air Force. When Lorne left the military in 1976 they settled in Lethbridge where June worked as an accountant until she retired at 55. She served on the Board of Appeal for Employment Insurance for many years. She was a great supporter of the Legion, Labour Club and the Miners. Her two passions were her dog Chico and horse racing where she sat in the same seat at the grandstand every weekend for 15 years. Her sense of humour will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 6:30 P.M.
Cremation to follow.

HENK NIEUWENDYK

HENDRIKUS “HENK” ALBERTUS NIEUWENDYK, beloved husband of Mary Nieuwendyk, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October, 14, 2007 at the age of 85 years.
Besides his loving wife of 27 years Mary, Henk is survived by his sons Rudy Nieuwendyk, Fred Nieuwendyk and Rick (Anita) Nieuwendyk, 6 children Wilma (Gerrit) Van Vliet, Albert (Linda) Groenesteyn, Tony Groenesteyn, Joanne (Don) Tanasichuk, Henry (Kelly) Groenesteyn and Lorraine (Sid) Barwegen, 26 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his 1st wife Henriette Louise (1957) and 2nd wife Neeltje “Nell” (1979).
Henk immigrated from Holland with his wife Henriette and twin sons in April 1953 and settled in Lethbridge. Henk loved Canada and the opportunities that were open to him. He became a Canadian citizen in 1959. After holding a couple different jobs he was very proud to be taken on at St. Michael’s General Hospital as a stationary steam engineer. He was at St. Michael’s for 19 years and retired in January 1987.
To those who knew him well, he was a very thankful man and the words “we are well blessed” were often heard coming from his lips.

RUDOLF NIGGLI
1918 - 2007
MR. JOHANN RUDOLF NIGGLI beloved husband of Mrs. Irma (Nee Barak) Niggli passed away at the Milk River Extendicare in the early hours on Saturday, October 13th, 2007 at the age of 89 years.
Rudy was born in Klosters, Switzerland on August 8, 1918. In 1951 he immigrated to Canada where he worked for a few local farmers before buying his own farm east of Warner. His passions were skiing and farming, which he continued to do into his 80’s. Rudy loved his cats, dogs and Swiss chocolate.
Besides his loving wife Irma of 53 years, Rudy is survived by one son Tom (Trudy) and 4 grandchildren; Tracy, Trevor, Teresa and Taralyn.
A PRIVATE FAMILY Graveside Service will be held at the MILK RIVER CEMETERY on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.

MR. TELLY NEUMANN, beloved husband of Mrs. Cindy Neumann and father of Amy Neumann (Devon Wannop) and Ben Neumann of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the age of 50 years.
He is also survived by 6 brothers and sisters; Donna (Greg) Hardie, Herb (Kathy) Neumann, Alfred Neumann (Maureen), Val (Lloyd) Voth, Perry (Susy) and Karen Neumann as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Gloria Neumann and a twin brother at birth.
Telly will be lovingly remembered as a caring people person who always lent a helping hand to anyone. His heart of gold was shown through his love of conversation and desire to make a difference in other peoples’ lives. His true love in his life was his family and he was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild, a little girl. He enjoyed watching his children playing sports, eventually coaching them. Telly enjoyed displaying the magic of Christmas with his “Christmas House of Lights” which he was very proud to share with the community. He worked at Kawneer for 20 years and enjoyed spending time outdoors and quading in the mountains. He will be sadly missed by his family, many friends and as well by his three dogs Buddy, Lucky and Teddy.
A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13th Street North, Lethbridge on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Raul Hernandez Celebrant.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
