WARNOCK, JAMES ROY
1932-2010
MR. JAMES “JIM” ROY WARNOCK passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the age of 78 years.

He is survived by his children; Dale Warnock (Lenora), David and Daniel; Bill Warnock (Coreen), Jim (Brandie) and great-grandchildren; Devon, Austyn, Wade (Jannelle) and Christy (Patrick); Sheila Elliott, Jennifer and Kevin; Connie Smith (Dan) and Brad. He is also survived by one sister, Vera Owsley and one brother, Lorne (Mary) Warnock, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his parents William and Helen Warnock, two infant brothers, Layton Warnock and Mick Owsley.

Born in Lethbridge on March 25, 1932, Dad lived and farmed in the Turin/Iron Springs area and enjoyed every minute of it. Dad sold his farm in 2005 and moved to Lethbridge. Not long after the move his health started to fail and he was diagnosed with Alzheimers, but Dad never gave up.
He was proud to be a member of the AA program and on September 10th he would have celebrated his 37th year of sobriety.

As an avid beet grower, Dad served as a director on the Alberta Sugar Beet Growers Marketing Board for several years. The Casino was Dad’s favourite place to go, eating veal cutlets, meeting friends, shaking hands and asking “How the hell are you?” Dad enjoyed outings and will be remembered by his “BIG SMILE”.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. A reception will be held after the service. Interment to be held at Huntsville Cemetery, Iron Springs, AB.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jim’s honour to St. Therese Villa, 253 Southgate Boulevard South, Lethbridge, AB., T1K 2S1.

WILSON, HILDA CAROLINE
1912-2010
MRS. HILDA CAROLINE WILSON, beloved wife of the late Joseph W.R. Wilson of Lethbridge, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the age of 98 years.

Hilda was the loving mother of Robert (Carol) Wilson of Turks and Caicos and grandmother of: Beverly Wilson (Peter Cordingley) of Edmonton, Darren (Jackie) Wilson of Bow Island, Diane (Phil) Lodermeier of Lacombe, Bradley Wilson of Sylvan Lake, Tim Wilson of Calgary and Heather (Jeffrey) Strosher of Victoria BC. Hilda is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by husband, Joe, son Bill, grandson Doug, brothers Harry, Arthur, Ted, Bill and Lind as well as sisters Lula, Anna, Nell and Sena.

Hilda was born on a farm near Foremost on February 17, 1912. The youngest child of Harry and Mary Jensen, she attended school in Foremost. She married Joe Wilson on November 17, 1934 and they lived on a farm south of Lucky Strike until they retired in 1969 and moved to Lethbridge where she resided until her passing.

Hilda will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Lois Punton officiating.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

WILSON, TERENCE PASCHAL (TERRY)
1962 - 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of Terry Wilson announces his passing on June 19th, 2010 at the Foothills Hospital.

Claimed by a brain tumor, he leaves behind his two sons Finbar and Aedan, brothers Malachy (Collette), Eamon (Mai), Mel, and Seamus, with many nieces and nephews in Ireland.

Mourned by his family, Rebecca, beloved companion Margaret Loman and his many friends and colleagues in Ireland, Prince George, BC., and Lethbridge, AB.

Terry was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Margaret and grandson Carter.

A Prayer Service will be held at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 917 – 4th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB., on Monday June 21, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. with Reverend Tim Boyle officiating.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 917 – 4th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB., on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 at 4.30 P.M. with Reverend Tim Boyle, Celebrant.

A second Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Prince George, BC., with cremation and interment to follow at a later date.

WEIPPERT, HUGO
1942-2010
MR. HUGO WEIPPERT, beloved husband of Mrs. Anne Weippert of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit after a valiant effort for life on Wednesday, June 15, 2010 at the age of 68 years.

Hugo was predeceased by his Father Jakob, brother Daniel, mother Emma and several nieces and nephews.

Hugo is survived by his wife Anne, married on July 2, 1966, Sons Lee (Leah) of Lethbridge and Neal. Daughters June (Alan) Beloin of Lethbridge and Wendy (Rodney) Cannan of Vegreville, 10 Grandchildren; Ami, Joshua and Adrian Walker of Lethbridge, Ivy and Tucker Weippert of Lethbridge, Sterling, Sloane, Colt, Keely & Ryder Cannan of Vegreville. Brother Herbert (Elisabeth deceased) Weippert of Lethbridge, sisters; Lili (Otto deceased) Pipke of Camrose, Clara (Peter) Traudt of Vegreville, Irma (John) Kleiner of Lethbridge, Gertrude (Nelson) Erman of Lethbridge. Brothers-in-law Robert (Lynn) Gustum of Lacombe, Donald Gustum of Lethbridge, Richard (Denise) Gustum of Coaldale, Sisters-in-law Cathy (John) Fix of Red Deer and Joyce (Peter) Schafer of Lethbridge along with numerous nieces and nephews.

After experiencing a serious brain injury in a motor vehicle accident on December 1, 1979, Hugo defied the grave prognosis of his doctors by surviving not only the initial injury, but future illnesses associated with his injury. With the loving, steadfast care of his wife, he remained in his own home until being hospitalized in May of this year. His determination to live and to remain a part of the lives of his children and grandchildren was an example of his courage and strength.

His love of life and people touched all the lives who knew him. His quiet courage, strength of spirit and sense of humor will be carried forward by those who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Richard Brown officiating.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

MRS. SARAH J. WIPF, beloved wife of the late Mr. Daniel J. Wipf, of Magrath, passed away at the Deerfield Colony, on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the age of 87 years.

She is survived by two sons; Tim (Judy) Wipf of Magrath, Joe Wipf of Lethbridge, 3 daughters: Judy, Sarah and Annie Wipf, all of Magrath, and seven grandchildren.

WILLFORD, EMMA BLANCHE
1906-2010
June 23, 1906 ~ May 23, 2010

BLANCHE WILLFORD passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Crowsnest Pass Long Term Care Centre at the age of 103 years.

Blanche was born at her family home near Tyvan, SK, the third child of George and Bertha Ranson. After attending school at Hooverville, Balmoral and Moose Jaw Normal School, Blanche pursued her chosen career as a teacher, a role she loved, as many former students will confirm. In 1932 Blanche came to Coronach, SK to teach and this is where she met and married Albert Willford in 1933. Together they farmed at Birch Hills, SK, and in the Coronach area until they retired.

Following Albert’s death in 1983, Blanche remained in Coronach, enjoying her home, yard, family, friends and her church. In 1986 Blanche moved to Calgary to be near her daughter Faye and family. She moved to the Pincher Creek area in 1999 and resided at the York Creek Lodge until 2005 when she moved to the Care Centre in Blairmore, AB, where she resided until her passing.

She was predeceased by; her parents George and Bertha Ranson, her 5 brothers; Harley, George William in infancy, Stanley, Fred and Blake and her husband of 50 years Albert.
Blanche is survived by a son, James (Elaine) Willford and a daughter Faye (Keith) Dawson; 4 grandchildren, Cindy Kessler, Orin, Trent and Kevin Dawson; 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Shane (Miranda) and Shanisse Dawson, Cailin (Ashley) Kessler; 2 great-great-grandchildren, James Kessler and Ethan Dawson, 1 sister-in-law Phyllis Ranson as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She has been steadfast in her role as mother, wife and grandmother, a strong supporter of her community, church, neighbours and friends. Next to her family, she had a lifelong love of books and gardening and will always be remembered for her loving and giving ways and her always present Irish humor.

Mom was a resident at Crowsnest Pass Long Term Care for nearly 5 years and the family wishes to thank all of the staff for their loving and compassionate care given to mom during this time. We very much appreciate your dedication and wonderful caring support extended to us during Mom’s final hours.

At Blanche’s request, there will be a private family memorial service in Coronach, SK, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Blanche’s name to the charity of your choice.

WICKHAM, GEORGE EDWIN
1924-2010
MR. GEORGE EDWIN WICKHAM of Lethbridge (formerly Edmonton) passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the age of 85 years.

He is the loving father of Tim (Julaine) of Redcliff, Dennis (Marie) of Lethbridge, and grandfather to; Trevor (Gail) of Red Deer, Lorinda of Lethbridge, Stephanie and Brenna of Lethbridge. He is also survived by the mother of his two grown children, Grace Wickham, three brothers and three sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Syd and Winifred, and his special grandfather Thomas Wickham.

George spent 40 plus years working for S & T Drilling, a job he loved, including a three year stint in Australia. In his retirement years he spent time in Red Deer before moving to Lethbridge, where he spent his remaining years.
Special thanks go to the Staff at West Highlands and the 4C wing at Chinook Regional Hospital for all their care and friendship over the past years.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411-11 Street South, Lethbridge on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2 P.M.

WILLIAMS, "JEAN" DORIS JEANNE
1937-2010
MRS. JEAN WILLIAMS (nee Thompson), beloved wife of the late Mr. Wes Williams of Medicine Hat, AB, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the age of 72 years.

Jean was pre-deceased by her loving husband Wes, of 50 years, in 2006.

In passing, Jean leaves her beloved family who will cherish her memory forever.

Jean is survived by her children Paul (Liz) Williams of Thornbury, Ontario and his children Jeff (Lori) and Michael, George (Joan) Williams of Camrose, Alberta, and their children Rick and Derek, Gerry (Karen) Williams of Petawawa, Ontario and their children Sarah and Cody, Teena (Brian) Price of Lethbridge, Alberta and their daughter Brianne (Brat), Ryan (Carmen) Surbey of Edmonton, Alberta and four great grandchildren Tyson, Liam, Hayley and Tate.
Jean is also survived by her siblings, June (Elbourne) Andrews, Leonard (Pat) Thompson, Lloyd (Mary) Thompson and Gordon Thompson.

Jean was pre-deceased by her husband Wes, an infant daughter, daughter in-law Bonnie, mother and father Boyd and Marjorie Thompson and parents-in-law Edward and Sarah Williams.

Jean was born on October 3, 1937 in Porcupine, Ontario, the second of five children.

In 1975 Jean and Wes moved to Fort Macleod, Alberta and after several moves settled in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Jean was a hard worker and devoted much of her life working with the elderly in many capacities.

Her first love was her family and she also enjoyed camping, jigsaw puzzles and the last four years becoming a computer expert.

Jean is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family on Wes’ side as well as her special friends in Medicine Hat.

At Jean’s request there will be no formal funeral service, a private family time will be held.

Mom, we love you and will miss and cherish you forever.
