Deepest sympathy on the loss of Lucy. I remember so well all the fun we had at your house as teenagers and how much fun Lucy was. She will be missed

My sympathy goes out to the family. I worked with Lucy at the County of Lethbridge and thought she was one of the kindest individuals I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Coming out to the farm was so much fun and I hope that all the memories of Lucy will keep her close in all your hearts.

What a small world! I come from a family with fifteen children. My mother and father, Nick and Rose Chomiak, were very good friends with your mother’s parents, Matt and Mary Bitango. In fact your grandfather was godfather to two of my siblings, Robert and Irene, when they were baptized at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church in New Dayton in 1941 and 1942. I am not sure if your grandfather worked for the C.P.R. with my dad, who was a section foreman at the time. I called an older sister who is 86 to let her know of your mother’s passing. She knew and remembered her and mentioned that they would call her and her brother “two to tango” instead of Bitango in their younger days. Kindness and respect must have been passed onto your mother from her parents, as my mother always had only good words to describe them. May memories of your mother help you find comfort and healing in the days ahead. Kathy (Chomiak) Braun

The Broxburn area ladies Bible study group enjoyed Lucy’s participation for a number of years prior to her move to Good Sams. Besides our weekly Bible studies, we toured each other’s gardens in July and Christmas lights in December. We have fond memories of Lucy and extend our condolances to her family.

Condolences to you all from the Pahara family. Your mom was a treasured friend of our mom, through the CWL & Sunnyside School. Your parents were such friends to mine, simply the special neighbours that country families were sometimes blessed to have.
For me, coming to stay at your place was always a lot of fun & Lucy saw to that – what great memories I have of her & my times at your farm! Her warmth, smile & hospitality are cherished memories. May your own fond memories of your mom, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother forever warm your hearts. Renee, Debbie & Dennis Pahara

Dear Pat, Ann and Joan,
We are so sorry we were not able to attend Lucy’s service. She was a special lady. When we were first married and moved to the farm in 1961, your family was one of the first to welcome us and invite us for visits. (and to share vegetables from your mom’s large garden!)
I had just been saying last fall, “I sure would like to have another visit with Lucy”.
Our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your mother,
Eugene and Virginia Wauters
