It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Mr. Russell Charles Fitch, on Monday, December 6th, 2021, at the age of 53 years.

Russell was born to Carolyn and Curtis Fitch in Red Deer, Alberta on September 25th, 1968. He was the second youngest of four siblings - all of whom share his self-lessness and sense of humor. Early on, Russell developed an interest in hockey. This sport gave him the opportunity to travel internationally to Finland, ultimately returning to compete in the Western Canadian Purolator Cup. Russell found a career in the oil-patch, then moving on to his role at Hughson Trucking Inc., eventually followed by maintenance at the Milk River Hospital. Russell went on to have three beautiful daughters whom he took great pride in. He also had a passion for all things car racing, hockey, and animals. Russell had a calm and gentle demeanor and was best known for his wit and ability to crack a joke at any moment.

He is survived by his three loving daughters, Sierra Fitch of Olds, AB, Robyn Fitch of Penhold, AB, Brandi Fitch of Lacombe, AB and his cats Smoke, Salt, and Rosie. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings Calvin (Carma) Fitch of Milk River, AB, Corey (Charlotte) Fitch of Red Deer, AB, Laura (Jim) Downey of Calgary, AB, his mother Carolyn Fitch of Milk River, AB, and many relatives and friends.

Russell is predeceased by his father, Curtis Fitch, his beloved grandparents Carol (Seedies) Larson, and Burt and Judy Fitch.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Paul's United Church (209 2nd Avenue NE, Milk River, AB) on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 1:30 P.M. Due to Covid restrictions, seating is limited. Please RSVP to Cornerstone at 403-381-7777 care@cornerstonefh.ca.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Humane Society of your choice as he thoroughly enjoyed the presence of animals.
