ETELKA "ETHEL" EVE KEMERI (ZOMBORI), passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the St Michael's Health Centre on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the age of 82 years.

She is the loving mother of Frank (Patty) Kemeri and their children Anna and Aidan of Calgary, Margaret Thomas and her daughter Courtney of Lethbridge, and Debbie Maddison and her children Adam and Brendan of Lethbridge. Ethel is also remembered by sisters, Rose Daniels and Betty Quee.

Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Frank Kemeri, parents, Julianna and Joszef Zombori, sisters, Julia Varady and Maggie Douglas, brothers, Joe and Nick Zombori as well as in-laws, Mary and Joseph Kemeri.

Ethel was born in Gyor, Hungary on July 30, 1939. She immigrated with her family to Canada in 1949, settling in Brooks, AB. They later moved to Picture Butte, where she eventually met the love of her life, Frank Kemeri. They married on April 2, 1960 and were together for 47 years before Frank's passing in 2007.

In her early years, Ethel worked at Purity Dairy then eventually moved on to her true passion, wearing a tool belt and building motorhomes for Pre-Built Ltd. She was proud of the family motorhome she built. Her family enjoyed many adventures, travelling and camping around BC and Montana.

Ethel loved driving and drove everything from a bike, boat, snowmobile and quad to her orange Volkswagon Beetle. She was a daredevil on the roads and the unit just had to be fast and fun.

Ethel loved building and putting things together and was always available to help with renovations. She was a regular shopper at Sear's for anything from power tools, lawnmowers to whatever gadget they sold that was on sale. Ethel was so sad when the store closed.

In later years, their cabin at Duck Lake was the family paradise and a wonderful place to reunite on summer weekends and holidays to enjoy fishing and family time. Ethel and Frank made many wonderful memories there for family and many friends who came to visit.

Ethel's greatest love, however, was spending time with her family. She was most proud of her five grandchildren, Adam, Brendan, Courtney, Anna, and Aidan and never missed an opportunity to brag about them.

Ethel will be remembered for her great sense of humour, easy laugh and willingness to lend a helping hand. She will be deeply missed and family and friends who knew her.

A Celebration of Ethel's Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825-32nd Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating. The service will be live-streamed and may be accessed via Ethel's obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Ethel will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Frank, in a private family Graveside Service in Mountain View Cemetery.
