TERRENCE LEE LUND, better known as Terry or TL, rode away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family to join his sweetheart Lorna on Monday July 5, 2021.

He is survived by his beloved special friend Alice Kostelansky, three daughters Bonita Lund, Wanda (Brent) Clark, Artha (Levi) Harker; nine grandchildren, Jorden Clark, Kris (Marley) Clark, Tyson (Natalie) McIntyre, Conner (Estephania) McIntyre, Bronsen (Ashley) McIntyre, Kobi Harker, LJ Harker, Hunter Harker, and Jesse Harker; five great grandchildren, Hilton Clark, Jase Clark, Lorne Clark, Archer Clark, and Everett McIntyre

Terry was predeceased by his wife Lorna (Berezay) Lund, his parents; A.K. and Violet Lund, and his brothers; Douglas and Patrick Lund.

Terrence Lee Lund, better known as Terry or TL, was born at the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge, AB, on July 24, 1943.

He grew up on the farm southwest of Milk River, AB. He attended school in Milk River until he was recruited by the coach of the Sunburst Refiners to play high school football and basketball. It was there that he met his sweetheart, Lorna Berezay.  They were married on September 21, 1962, and he graduated in 1963. With the arrival of their first daughter, Bonita, they moved to Swanhills AB, and he went to work for his brother with Dowell Canada from June 1963 until March 1965.With the arrival of his second daughter Wanda, the family moved to Duchess AB. He worked for Bryce Stringham at the Three Walking Sticks until the fall of 1966, when he met Morris Palmer and went to work for Palmers on the Blacktail as foreman. In 1970 his third daughter Artha was born.

He was involved with importing full French Charolais bulls from France, and traveled to many stock shows north and south of the border.  In 1968, Morris bought the Cochrane Ranch located near Hillspring AB.  The family moved to the ranch where terry was foreman, running the calving and A.I. of the purebred Charolais and the commercial herd.

His first passion was his family, his sweetheart Lorna and his three daughters.  He always called us first chance, second chance, and last chance.  He brought us up to be strong and independent, which is a blessing to us now.

His other passion was the cattle industry so in September of 1972 Terry got his order buying license and that was the start of T.L. Lund Cattle Co. Ltd.  Terry spent most of his life in the cattle industry, either ranching or as an order buyer, brokering cattle deals across North America, and sending cattle to and from the USA, Mexico and across Canada.  He was well known for his fair trades, when business deals were made on the shake of a hand and his brutal sense of humour.  He will be missed in the sale rings, pens, feedlots, packing plants, and the gatherings across the prairies where his horses were his best friend. His company has become a family operation.

He taught us girls to ride, rope, and many, many other things, and supported us when we went to high school rodeo.  The only stipulation was that we had to compete in all the girl's events. We made many trips to the national high school finals. He also became a national high school rodeo director to support the sport of youth rodeo.

Once his grandchildren started arriving, he had a new gleam in his eyes.  When they were out of diapers and could use the bathroom or a tree, he would pick them up and take them home with him most times without letting mom know he was bringing them for the weekend.  They had many road trips together.  The gleam in his eyes grew even bigger once his great grandchildren started arriving, 5 to date and all blues. If you bugged him about not having any pinks he would just say, don't need any of them, lol.

Terry was a big believer in supporting the community.  He donated or sponsored the schools, golf course, 4-H, horse clubs and pretty much anything involving the youth.  He also donated to STARS, cancer and diabetes.

We will miss his gruff exterior and his soft heart.  We three girls have big boots to fill.
