JAMIE HONA PICKETT passed away in Calgary on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the age of 46 years.

JAMIE HONA PICKETT passed away in Calgary on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the age of 46 years.

He is the loving son to Dan (Eaiw) Pickett, brother to Kaolin (Amanda) Pickett, and uncle to Talon (Daamini) and Sarelle Pickett. He is also survived by his grandma Lyla Leishner; and aunts: Karen (Terry) Barby, Gail (Shawn) Smith, Carrie (Denise) Pickett and family, Judy (Barry) Byam and family, and Pam (Darcy) Kipp and family.

Jamie was predeceased by his mother Lorraine Pickett; grandparents Irvin Leishner, Mearl and Vivian Pickett; uncle Jeremy Pickett; and cousin Zachary Kipp.

Jamie was born and raised in the beautiful mountains in Rock Creek, British Columbia, where he lived his early years full of adventure with his parents, brother, and many close friends. He loved to be with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on his numerous trips to Southern Alberta. He truly was surrounded by the love of extended family and more adventures!

Jamie spent his later school years in Vernon, Victoria, Tofino, and Gabriola Island. He excelled at woodworking in high school and built impressive wooden furniture pieces. Jamie's years in Vancouver gave him great joy while he was attending Langara College. He always had a love for playing guitar, painting, photography and especially, listening to a wide variety of music.

Jamie was so proud to be an uncle to Talon and Sarelle, and living on Vancouver Island gave him more opportunities to spend very special times with them.

Jamie also had a huge love for skateboarding, snowboarding, some surfing, and a lot of golf. He was most comfortable when he was outdoors. Bike riding gave him the opportunity to go on more adventures, meet new people, and have some good conversations. Jamie liked to listen and was gentle and kind to everyone who was a part of his life.

Jamie had a strong belief and faith in Jesus Christ, his Lord and Saviour, and is now safe and at peace in His loving presence. We will always cherish our memories of Jamie.
