Darlene is survived by her son Bradley (Kate) and their children, McKenzie (Brett) and Dakota (Breanna).
She was predeceased by her husband Bruce, mother, father, sister, and two brothers.
Darlene was born in Brooks, Alberta, and lived in Bow City, Scandia and Vauxhall. The majority of her schooling was completed in Vauxhall. After graduating from grade 12, she worked at the bank of Nova Scotia in Vauxhall. On January 4, 1969, she married Bruce Koch and together, lived in Lomond.
Darlene served on various boards in Lomond: Lomond Figure Skating, Lomond Minor Hockey, Lomond Recreation Board, and Lomond Little Learners, which she helped found the organization when it started several years later. She loved helping at the Lomond Community School, reading to children. She helped teach at the 4-H Crafts Club. She worked at Grainland Hardware for 20 years, as well as volunteered help at Tom’s Groceries.
Bruce and Darlene retired to Lethbridge June of 2019.
A Celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at the LOMOND DROP-IN CENTRE, 115 – 1 Street South, Lomond, AB, on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.
