Ambrose, Mark

March 28, 2024

Mark followed his path home on March 28, 2024 to be reunited with his father and beloved brother, David, in heaven.

Mark was born in Digby County, Nova Scotia to Lloyd & Joyce Ambrose. He grew up in North Range on Bloomfield Road. He and his brothers engaged in youth groups and soccer. Much of his childhood was spent playing with his brothers, cousins, and his cousin and childhood bestie, Donna. Mark being the adventurer he was, headed west in 1997 where he met the love of his life, his wife Gwen!

Mark will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 26 years and best friend, Gwen, sons Isaac and Dacs, mother Joyce, sister Shelley, brothers Wayne and Stephen, mother-in-law Lynn Russell, and numerous other family members as well as his best friend in misbehaviour Tony (88). He is predeceased by his father Lloyd and his brother David.

In life Mark had a unique passion for creating works of art out of everyday items. A pile of stones became a stone hewn fireplace and a piece of driftwood turned into a coffee table that came from the sea. Each item was hand crafted with love and his greatest joy was in sharing his creativity and seeing the joy it brought others. Mark was generous and gave freely of his time and work to better those who he knew and his community. Mark enjoyed spending time in nature and exploring the world and sharing his visions with those closest to him. From the time Mark could walk, he started climbing trees, mountains, and coulees. Writing-On-Stone is a place his family will always remember him being Spiderman.

Mark had a talent for being able to connect to people and in doing so, brought people together. From the cashier at the grocery store to the neighbor next door, Mark’s kindness, love, and bad dad jokes made our world so much bigger and brighter.

Mark was born with such a connection to nature that animals were drawn to him as much as he was drawn to them. Over the years, he rescued and loved many animals but his current fur-babies were with him in his final times, which was important to him.

May your light to continue to shine on us, Mark. You have left your fingerprints on our hearts.
