Fabro, Rebecca "Becky"

March 1, 2026

REBECCA “BECKY” BELLE FABRO, passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at the age of 73 years.

She is survived by her daughters Alaina (Doug) Wells and Lauren (Bill) Olinek and her beloved grandsons Hunter and Malcolm; her sister Brandis Purcell; as well as her cherished nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents Marjy and Albert Kletke and brother Benjamin Kletke.

Becky was born as the middle child between her siblings Brandis and Ben in North Battleford Saskatchewan. The family moved from the farm to Grande Centre, where she grew up, using her quick wit and quirky sense of humor to earn her many lifelong friends.

After graduating 1 year early from High School, she moved to Edmonton to get her diploma in men’s hairstyling at Campus Barber College, a skill she used her entire life.

In 1970 she moved to the Crowsnest Pass, met and married Randy Fabro, and had 2 daughters, Alaina & Lauren. Becky loved being a mom, she would take her girls on adventures, try new experiences and be their biggest cheerleader for anything they did.

Becky was a cherished mother figure for many of the youth in the Crowsnest Pass. Her door was always open, day or night, regardless of what you might need.

Becky thrived in the Crowsnest Pass, she was a town councilor, a mentor to many young women through the Girl Guides, had her own catering company and served on many boards and committees, putting her ‘Becky Stamp’ on so many things within the community. During this time, she was also the recipient of several awards including the Citizen of the Year in 1988 and the Prix Lescarbot Award in 1992.

In July 1992 Becky bought her dream, The Orpheum Theatre, where she could combine her 2 loves, people and movies. For the next 23 years she was the Movie Lady. Her passion for the theatre and how it served the community was evident, whether it was a child’s birthday party, a large community event, or just another Tuesday at the movies. She loved to talk movies and always paid special attention to her regulars.

In 2015 Becky moved to Lethbridge to be closer to her family. She loved being Nana to her grandsons; they held a special place in her heart.

Becky imprinted her love on everyone she met and put her heart into everything she did. So many people have a special memory of her.

We would like to invite you to share these memories and celebrate her at the ORPHEUM THEATRE on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Details will be provided closer to the date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Becky’s name to St. Michael’s Health Centre.
