KENNETH JOHN KRAUSS, beloved husband of the late Evelyn Krauss, passed away peacefully at Bethany Riverview Long Term Care Centre in Calgary, on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the age of 91 years.

Ken is lovingly remembered by his son Bill (Linda) and their children Maxfield and Jennifer (Nik), their son Henry; and his daughter Michele (Ed) Penn and their children Kyle (Christy), their daughter Lola; and, Kristen (Brian) and their daughter Quinn. Ken also left behind numerous nieces, nephews and their children.

Besides his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn, Ken was predeceased by his parents Michael and Rose and his brother Donald. He will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends.

Following a long apprenticeship, Ken started his career as a linotype operator at the Leader Post in Regina. Ken and Evelyn made the move west to Lethbridge to continue his career and set down roots where they started their family. During that time, Ken worked at the Lethbridge Herald and Southern Printing. Later, he started his own specialized newspaper that held worldwide subscriptions. Ken had a passion for gunsmithing and collecting firearms. He was very well-known at the collectors' shows throughout the Canadian circuit.

Ken's favorite memories and storytelling times were of the summers that he spent on the family ranch in Saskatchewan riding and breaking horses, branding cattle and living the cowboy lifestyle.

Other passions of Ken's were collecting and reading books about settling the west and watching any movie with a western flair. He had a large collection of western books that have now been donated to the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization (LSCO).

As part of the LSCO, Ken enjoyed a great deal of his retired years as a member of the Amateur Ham Radio Club where he made many wonderful friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bethany Riverview for their kind and compassionate care of Ken during his time there and especially during Ken's final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME at a later date (to be announced).
