It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of MARIE ANTAL on August 18, 2014 at the age of 73 near Lethbridge, Ab.
In her passing, Marie leaves to mourn: her husband and best friend Dean of 54 years, her four children - Nicole (Jacob) Entz of Okotoks, Jacquie (Ruben) Gross of Okotoks, Doug (Leslie) Antal of Lethbridge and Mark (Lonnie) Antal of Cayley - 11 grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren, her sister Carol Ross of Victoria, BC, and many special friends and family.
Marie was born April 14, 1941 in High River, Alberta. She married Dean in 1960 and they farmed until 1992, when they moved to Raymond, Alberta. In addition to the farm life, she loved her work as a Unit Clerk at Cardston Hospital, which she did for 28 years. Her many other talents and gifts are too numerous to mention but her love of her family was her most precious and sustaining gift. Marie loved spending time with her family and friends; she carefully nurtured and treasured her relationships with those who were important in her life. She was a fabulous cook and she lived by what she believed, that a meal made with love and shared in love not only fostered good relationships, but could go a long way to help fix so many of life's little problems.
She was well loved for her compassion, kindness, love, and generous spirit. Her love, quiet courage, strength, creativity, and sense of humour will be remembered, reminisced about, and carried in the hearts of those who loved her. Her quick wit and sense of humour, which she passed on to many of her grandchildren, has brought many smiles in these difficult times. Her laughter was truly genuine, always infectious and will be missed.
Always remember: "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
As per her request, there will be no funeral service.
A come and go reception will be held at 376 COULEE CREEK COURT SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta on Thursday, August 28th, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M.

Marie was such a kind and caring person and always showed genuine interest when she was visiting with us. She was at the Cardston hospital when both of our daughters were born and visited and brought gifts to us for them. We had the first name picked out for our second daughter, but not a middle name yet and when she visited, she jokingly suggested that we give her the middle name of Marie. It didn't take us long to decide that we would call her Erin Marie. ;) We were so very sad to hear of Marie's passing last week and wanted to send our condolences to Dean and all of the family. Cousin Al Beeber contacted me and told me of Marie's tragic passing. Please know I am very deeply saddened by her loss. Thinking of Dean and family at this time as well. I know my Mom Betty Ann and her are having a wonderful hug and talk and sharing stories and coffee together in heaven!

Marie Antal was an intelligent, beautiful woman who was a dear friend to my mother and for that, Marie has a special place in my heart. My sincerest condolences to you, Dean, and to your family; I wish peace and strength to all of you.

I am so very sorry to hear about Marie. We had so much history together but have spent so little time in each others company in the past many years. Marie shared a birthdate with our mother and I remember the cakes we had when Mom was 41 and Marie was 14!!......growing up was special and Marie was a huge part of those special times,as was Dean. She will be missed by all who knew her.
