Baldrey, James William
This is a very sad time. James was taken from us far too soon. He had passed away in his sleep due to a Health-Related Issue that was unknown to both James and us on Friday, May 28, 2021.
This is a very sad time. James was taken from us far too soon. He had passed away in his sleep due to a Health-Related Issue that was unknown to both James and us on Friday, May 28, 2021.
He will be dearly missed and is survived by his mother Brenda (Oriano Delbello), Sister Brianna, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
He was predeceased by his Father, Ronald James Baldrey, his grandparents, Larry and Laura Hendrickson and James William (Slim), and (his favorite) Dorothy Baldrey and his Aunt, Sharon Hendrickson.
James was born and completed all his schooling in Lethbridge, Alberta. Growing up James was always eager to have a knock on the door from neighborhood friends to come out to play. It did not matter what time of day or what you wanted to play. It could have been driveway hockey, shoot hoops, build a snowman or igloo. It didn't matter whether you were a boy or girl, or how old you were. He never declined an invitation even as he got older. Throughout James' life, he loved playing and watching many sports, especially lacrosse, soccer, football, basketball and golf.
James was generous and considerate of others. He would offer what little money he had to someone he felt needed it more, and it did not matter whether he knew them or not. Although he struggled with many things in life, some things that did not change were his sense of humour, generosity and thirst for knowledge.
For those who wish, memorial donations in James' name may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Cancer Society and Heart or Stroke Foundation.
If you have a favourite memory, funny story, or even a picture you would like to share, please email it to RememberingJamesBaldrey@hotmail.com.
We will compile these together and have a "Walk Down Memory Lane" in the future so they can all be shared. Thanks.
James will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery on Monday, June 7th, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. Due to Covid restrictions, the service will be private. For those who wish, the service will be live-streamed, and can be accessed on James' obituary.

Dear Brenda, My condolences to you on the loss of your son James taken far too soon, it's so sad. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal". May love sustain you at this tragic time.
To my dearest big Sister and my best friend...I can't imagine your pain, sadness and sorrow right now losing a child who you fought for for years to conceive... adored him all his life... fought for his every being...loved on him like no other mother...stood by him during the good the bad and the ugly... you never quit on him even in his darkest moments... because you loved him so much! The kind of Love that God gives us... unconditional Love. I will miss him very much and will cry with you every day until your heart mends. He really loved you and and knew you were the perfect mom for him. You're amazing Brenda! Always remember that! God didn't make us perfect, but to know you and your heart is a blessing. Sending my heartfelt love, and prayers of peace to you Oriano and Brianna. Praying God will bring the family closer together in a whole new way and never let the light dim on James. Love you all dearly!
I have the fondest memories of rushing home at lunchtime from school so I could play with James when he was a baby. Such a cute little blond, blue eyed, smiling ball of cuteness! Thinking of you all during this challenging time, sending big hugs and loves.

I went to high school with James, and we also played football together for a few years. I will always remember his love for sports, quiet demeanour, sense of humour and big smile. Glad we ran into each other at the grocery store a few months ago! Rest in paradise, my friend.
