Barbara Bianchi-Thielen
Barbara was known for her sharp wit, generous heart, and boundless creativity. She was an exceptional cook and baker, and her kitchen was a place where family gathered, stories were shared, and memories were made. A talented quilter, crocheter, and gardener, Barbara had a deep love for all things crafty, and her handiwork brought comfort and beauty to many.

A talented quilter, crocheter, and gardener, Barbara had a deep love for all things crafty, and her handiwork brought comfort and beauty to many.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Boyd (Colleen) Bianchi and grandchildren Candace, Melissa, and Dusten; Annette (Ken) Long and grandchild Vicki; Carleen (Konrad) Galts and grandchildren Rosanne, Tracy, and Daniel; and Darcy (Don) Finkbeiner and grandchild James, all her great-grandchildren, as well as Gordon’s family. Barbara was a proud and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother to many, all whom she cherished deeply.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Domonic Bianchi and Gordon B. Thielen, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Kendra Long and Randy Finkbeiner.
Barbara’s warmth, humour, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Prairie Rose Lodge for taking great care of Barbara over the past few years. They would also like to thank all the physicians, nurses, and care staff who supported Barbara during her battle with cancer. Additionally, the family expresses gratitude to Physician Assistant Mark Simons and all the care staff at Milk River Health Centre for their great care and compassion during Barbara’s final days.
A Prayer Vigil will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 Main Street NW, Milk River, AB, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 7:30 P.M. with Father Pawel Andrasz O.M.I. officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Pawel Andrasz O.M.I. celebrating.
Following the Reception, Barbara will be laid to rest in Archmount Cemetery, 2710 Westside Drive W, Lethbridge, AB, at 2:30 P.M.
