Beatrice Dietl

1955 – 2024

Send a Tribute

Beatrice is survived by her loving family; soulmate, Paul; daughters, Melony (Mike) Dietl and Jessica (Mick) Hooper; grandchildren, Dillan Perry, Jordan Perry, and Carrera Hooper; one great-grandson, Bentley; sisters, Patricia (Ralph) Freeman, Jackie (Gary) Oulette, and Mother Theresa Finley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends. Beatrice Catherine Dietl, affectionately known as Bea was born in Gimley, Manitoba on January 28, 1955 and arrived two months early and weighing all of four pounds and seven ounces. She was the definition of a true survivor and had strength beyond the limitations set before her. Bea found her soulmate in our dad, Paul Dietl and they were married February 16, 1974. Together they settled down in Shaughnessy and raised their two beautiful girls. Bea loved being a mom, she was a nurturing soul, always ready with a comforting word or an engaging story. Bea had a heart for adventure, loved camping and being outdoors including sitting around a blazing campfire enjoyed the midnight sky. In 2001, Bea was diagnosed with cancer, but she never let cancer define her. She would never allow herself to be considered an inspiration, but to us she was. Bea had a quiet resilience and faced each challenge with grace, grit and determination. She always put her family first no matter the circumstances. She was an amazing cook, always making special treats for family and friends. Bea enjoyed her hobbies of crafting and beadwork as they brought her a lot of joy. Bea was predeceased by her daughter, Debbie-Jean; brother, Gene Finley; stepdad, George Trapp; in-laws, Joseph and Jean Dietl, Mary and Mickey Ress, Diane Orosz, Dennis Courtoreille and grandson, Samuel Perry. A service celebrating Beatrice’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the SHAUGHNESSY COMMUNITY HALL from 1-4:00 P.M., where friends and family are invited to remember a life that albeit short, was truly a gift to us all

My condolences to you and your family Paul. May you find strength and peace, now and in the days ahead.

Oh BeaBea…my work twin…I am so very sad to hear this, although you would probably smack me and say something to make me laugh. I so enjoyed our times together, our laughs, and our drives (remember the drive to Edmonton??)…you made me feel welcome when I started in the office, and every day after that. To your family…I have only ever met Paul…my most heartfelt prayers and love to you all. The brightest candles burn out too quick! Hugs, Cindy Kunz
