ALFRED LORNE "LARRY" BELL, beloved husband of Teresa Bell, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Health Centre, on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
In addition to his loving wife, Teresa, Larry is survived by his children, Tanya Bell (Brad Stephenson) of Lethbridge, Tiffany Raats (Henry) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Chad Bell of Lethbridge, his grandchildren, Tia Black (Jim) of Lethbridge, Taylor Raats (Jessica) of Las Vegas, Matt Stephenson (Carissa Kirk) of Victoria, B.C. and Jack Stephenson of Calgary, and his great-grandchildren, Robbie, Tara, Henri and Carter. Larry was a proud and cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. Larry is also survived by his younger brothers, George Bell (Cheryl) of Oakville, Ontario and John Bell of Lethbridge. Also left missing Larry greatly is his faithful dog, Hunter
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Val and Alf Bell, and by his sister, Sharon Filuk (Tim).
Larry was born in Regina and spent his early years in Ogema, Saskatchewan. He would often talk about driving his siblings to school on a dog sled. This was just the beginning of his many adventures and no doubt helped to make him the determined, multi-talented man he was. Eventually his parents settled in Manitoba, where Larry attended university and met the love of his life, Teresa. They married in 1964 and began to build their life together. After time working as a mine foreman in Thompson, Manitoba Larry's young family found sunnier skies and new opportunities in Lethbridge. Larry became a successful commercial realtor, working on many large developments over the years until his retirement.
An avid golfer, in his early years Larry was an outdoorsman who went on many grand hunting and fishing trips. Later in life he and Teresa spent many enjoyable winters in Arizona, where they took up tennis with a passion. Wherever he went he was always a great handyman, eager for a project and always pitching in to help others with theirs. His work ethic never failed him, planning and taking on projects as long as he could pick up his tools.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors and staff involved in Larry's care over the last few years. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Hundal and to Dr. Watson for their dedication to helping Larry.
A private Family Service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021.

Dear Auntie Teresa, Tiffany, Tanya, Chad and family, I'm sending you my deepest sympathies in your great loss of Larry. I will always have fond memories of my Uncle, he was so funny & social and always took the time to talk with me. Dear Teresa, I just learned of Larry's death through our bulletins from SVE Tennis. I am so very sorry to hear of your great loss. Les and I spent 16 winters in SVE. We played tennis together and even though we didn't get to know each other closely I feel your sorrow as I experienced Les's sudden death in March while in the Village. He was also 80 years and in reading the obit, see that you guys were marrid in 1964 as well and had 57 great years together. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you walk this new journey. Know your family will be such a great support to you. It was so nice playing tennis with you and know you will do well. God Bless Judy Surridge
