MARION BENNETT (Leigh) (née Ross) passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, May 30, 2020 with her family by her side after a short battle with cancer.

MARION BENNETT (Leigh) (née Ross) passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, May 30, 2020 with her family by her side after a short battle with cancer.

Marion was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and GG. She is survived by her loving daughter, Janet Gardner of High River; her son, Gordon (Sharon) Leigh of High River; her stepson, Brian (Marina) Bennett of Prince George, BC; her sisters, Doreen Garland of Calgary and Bobbie (Duane) Pendergast of Lethbridge, as well as two nieces. Marion was so proud of her seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband, James Leigh (d. 1982); her second husband, Dr. Ronald Bennett (d. 2000); her special friend, Lawrence Stadlwiser (d. 2018); her brother-in-law, Archie Garland (d. 2019), and her son-in-law, Doug Gardner (d. 2019).

Marion was born on January 30, 1931 in Lacombe, AB. She lived in High River from 1942 to 1983 before moving to Lethbridge. She loved to socialize and looked forward to spending time with her many friends through golf, Bridge, and coffee. Her love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew her. She loved to travel, and took great pride in entertaining friends and family.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation: 960 - 19 St. S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5.
