Bill was born in Leusden, Holland to Roel and Geurtje Tymensen on December 4, 1930. He immigrated to Canada in July 1953 to marry the love of his life, Myrna. They shared 72 happy years together.

Bill’s ambition, hard work, and dedication paved the way for him to own a successful business.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very proud to serve as the Master of the Fourth Degree for Alberta and the Northwest Territories. He was dedicated to his faith and spent many hours volunteering with the church.

Bill was a kind and generous man with a great sense of humour. He was very social and spent countless hours with family and friends playing cards, dancing, bowling, camping, and fishing. He enjoyed spending time in his yard, tending to the flowers or watching the birds. Bill and Myrna enjoyed travelling and visited many places around the world.

Bill treasured time with his family, and we will hold close the wisdom and guidance he shared with us. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Bill is survived by his children: Sharon of Lethbridge, Rita (Ron) of Coalhurst, Ralph (Shelley) of Cold Stream, and Elaine (Tony) of Cochrane; grandchildren: Alyssa, Devin, Pam (Chris), Quinton (Angela), and Savannah (Ethan); as well as great-grandchildren: Kashtyn, Jacob, Lucas and Atlan.

Bill is also survived by two siblings Bep and Bertus. He is predeceased by siblings Job, Jans, Toon, John, Wil, Riek, Gerda, Willem, Gerrit, and Roel.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 2:30 P.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating. The Memorial Mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Bill’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the All Saints Building Fund or the Jack Ady Cancer Centre.

Our condolences to you Myrna and the family. SK Bill had always been a mentor to me in my involvement with the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus. As Master of the 4th Degree at the time, he was instramental in helping Airdrie form their 4th Degree Assembly, SK John G Timmermans Assembly 2632. He was also my mentor in helping me during my terms as Master of the 4th Degree. Sandra and I enjoyed travelling to Lethbridge to do an Exemplification and visiting with Myrna & Bill. He will be surely missed, may his soul be at peace in the arms of our Lord. May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed rest in peace.

Dear Myrna, Since I received your email you and the Tymensens have been in my mind. It’s been awhile that I shed that many tears. In wasn’t until I got my family tuned into my sympathy. They were with you and me. The pleasant call was from Les who talked respectfully first about Bill. He then informed me that he was going to represent the Turner family at the funeral on Thursday. I couldn’t be more pleased. First i wanted to go but have to be sensible about my health. Les is very capable. I will watch you on the video. Myrna, I contacted many of our close friends who too mentioned how we will miss Bill. My last comment is that Stan and Bill will be together until we join them. God Bless!
