Boessenkool, Greg

GREGORY "GREG" ALLEN BOESSENKOOL, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the age of 56 years.

Greg will be lovingly missed by his son Levi Hopkinson, father Gerry Boessenkool, sisters Cindy Boessenkool and Lorraine (Ken) Tyerman and nephew Devon Tyerman, all of Lethbridge. He will also be remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his mother May Boessenkool and numerous aunts, uncles and all four of his grandparents.

Greg was the eldest child of Gerry and May Boessenkool. He was a lover of ALL sports with hockey and the Chicago Blackhawks as his favourite team. He spent endless hours watching any and all sports from the comfort of his room. Greg also played many sports including: Hockey, baseball, football and golf. He became a coach and umpire with the Softball Association. If you asked him for any hockey stat, he could rattle it off in a second. His dream was to become a sports commentator and he would have made a GREAT one. Unfortunately, a knee injury would curtail his love of participating in any of the sports he so enjoyed.

For many years in the past, Greg was employed as a cook and manager in many restaurants here in Lethbridge and surrounding areas. He took great pride in all of his accomplishments. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M.
