Brody Marsh

Send a Tribute

Brody spent his early childhood living in Claresholm and felt a great affinity for his beginnings there ever after. He loved the sport of wrestling, and created a ring in the basement, complete with costumes for his friends. He painted his friends’ hockey helmets, skateboarded, played baseball because his grandma wanted him to; and thought riding the bus was great fun.

He moved to Lethbridge for high school and made life-long friends; and helped pioneer the punk rock scene there. He was part of the Scallywags and the Oi Street Scoundrels bands.

Brody was known for his happy, sweet, and funny disposition. He had a great sense of humour, and thought rude comments made good names for Punk bands. Although he acted tough, he was really a “marsh” mellow! He loved everything punk…. the music, the community and proudly strutted the style. He also loved Law and Order TV, the Canucks, the Hurricanes and watching the news. He was kind to everyone he met but was particularly so to the disadvantaged.

The people who loved Brody and will sorrily miss him include his mother, Cheyenne (Marsh) Grayson, his sister, Mikki and her partner Dagan Woodman, and their special baby daughter, Aurelia (whom he worshipped and adored). Also missing him is his grandmother, Jane Marsh, his stepdad, Mark Grayson; his aunt Jolayne Marsh and grandfather Jim Marsh and his best buddies and his whole Punk Rock Crew who he loved and called Family! We all love you, miss you and will cherish your love forever!

To quote Brody: “Oi! Oi! Oi! “UP THE PUNX” A Viewing will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB for those that wish to attend on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Brody was so much fun to have on the Tim Hortons team when my family was in Lethbridge. We're saddened to hear of his passing and send wishes peace and comfort to his family and friends.

Cheyenne & Micki, my heart is with you at this time. No words can be said or expressed, other than there are many family and friends here for you.

Brody was one of my students when I worked at WCHS, the most respectful and polite young "punk" . He treated me with the upmost respect. You will always remain one of my favorites. May you always know that your personality was on of my absolute favorites. Gail

I met Brody way back in highschool. I moved away for a long while, and was fortunate enough to reconnect again over the last year. Every time I saw Brody, he seemed genuinely happy to see me, and I don't think that was an experience unique to me. See you on the other side, mister. Keep a 40 cold for me.

Thr first time I met Brody it was 2004 at a punk show at the former Starlight Lounge in Lethbridge. I was 16, just getting into punk rock, and it was my first time attending a show - and I went alone because none of my friend group were into punk rock. I was nervous to be alone but when I arrived about an hour before doors opened there was a group of punk rock kids hanging out, out front. Brody was one of them, and though everyone there was super nice, Brody noticed I hadn't come with anyone and invited me into the circle of people chatting. I remember this evening so perfectly clear I can remember what Brod was wearing, even. He was the friendliest, nicest guy. Because I was only 16 my parents wouldn't let me stay out too late and so my dad picked me up around 10pm. The Starlight Lounge was located at the current Boss Hogs, kind of a rougher part of town. Brody walked with me to where my dad was waiting in the parking lot. He introduced himself, shook my dad's hand, and we three chatted a bit before Brody headed back inside. My parents were a little iffy about me getting into the punk scene (the aesthetics freaked them out a bit) but he talked the whole drive home about what a 'pleasant young man' Brody was, and honestly - Brody being the truly pleasant young man he was - helped pave the road for me to find my own way through the scene and to discover who I was and wanted to be, through punk rock, because my dad saw that these 'punk rockers' were not actually scary at all. Rest in PUNK, Brody. Thanks for being awesome.
