ERIC CAMPBELL, beloved husband of the late Lil Campbell passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on December 29, 2017 at the age of 93.

ERIC CAMPBELL, beloved husband of the late Lil Campbell passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on December 29, 2017 at the age of 93.

He is survived by his two sons; Ken (Catherine) Campbell of Kelowna, BC and Mark (Sharlene) Campbell of Lethbridge. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Dalyce, Reid (Destinee), Caylee (Ken) James, Jessica (Dan) Chisholm, Nyssa Hjelm, Mike (Christine) Sphar, David (Jessica) Inglis and Kristie (Dan) Laux and 7 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Gavin, Brooklyn, Mason, Charolette, Brinley and Kinsley.

Eric was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on February 29, 1924 and was looking forward to his 27th birthday in 2021. He married his high school sweetheart, Lil, in Lethbridge in 1950. They were married for 57 years. Most of his working life in Lethbridge was with McGavin's Bread.

Eric loved life. He was the epitome of the hospitable quality that Cape Bretoners are renowned for and had a tremendous sense of humor, able to put a smile on the face of everyone he met which is why he had a vast network of friends.

Traveling was a big part of Eric & Lil's life as they would make yearly trips with dear friends to a warm, sandy beach in the middle of a cold Canadian winter (this would have been a perfect year for that) or make a trek to their beloved Cape Breton in the spring or summer.

Eric loved music and loved to sing. Many patrons of Martha's House, where he spent his last 11 years, would often get an impromptu serenade in the elevator.

Eric made a positive impact on many lives during his 93 years on earth. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

A Funeral Services will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME - 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Ralph Molyneux officiating.

I have lovely memories of Eric over the years. I knew him, since I worked with Lil for many years in the OR at St. Michaels. He was indeed a gem, and I loved his sense of humour. May your treasured memories bring you peace and happiness as you recall them

I'm so sorry to hear of Eric's passing. What a gem he was. He was the epitome of affability and congeniality. The Bible says " A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." That certainly described Eric's heart. . My wife and I extend our sympathy to you all. Alan Billett

So saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. Lots of fond memories of the visits your parents made to Cape Breton. There was always laughter, stories and of course singing. However, my fondest memory was watching them eat lobster, they enjoyed every morsel!! They truly enjoyed life. Thinking of everyone, cherish the memories. Nancy, Bill, Ian and Andrea

My sincere condolanc to all . I have had the wonderful pleasure of getting to know Eric for the last 11yrs at Martha's H. Eric will never be forgotten he was one of the most positive, kind, fun loving "Gentlemen" that i have had the pleasure of getting to know. He always spoke very proudly of his family . We had had lots of sing alongs, many laughs together and teasing about not all fish comes from the cape! And vegetables were good for him but there was no convincing him otherwise. We all loved Eric and will miss him. Sincerely Irene.

Sincere condolences on the loss of Eric. He spent many hours with sing songs around our other May's piano and we are sure he is singing in heaven right now. We were honored to call him our friend and will join in his Celebration of Life across the miles.
