Carol is survived by her husband Reo Shank; daughter Christine (Shane) Toker; and son Todd Farrell; as well as five grandchildren. She is also survived by step-daughters: Crystal (Simon) Shank, Rhonda (Mark) Harding and four step-grandchildren. She leaves behind a brother Allen (Donna) Nielsen; sister Helen Parker; and sister-in-law Rosella Nielson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in 1967. Her generosity of spirit and love enriched the lives of all she met.

Carol accepted everyone with an open heart. She had an immense passion for her family. She was loved by everyone and will be forever missed.

A special thank you to the doctors and staff on Unit 3B at the Chinook Regional Hospital, as well as to her sister Helen Parker and sister-in-law Rosella Nielsen.

A family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
