Born December 6, 1967, Died October 3, 2025. He was 57 years old.
He will be deeply missed by Kim, his loving wife and best friend of 35 years, son Justin (Mackenzie), mother Shirley (Dale), brother Rod (Robin), children Kaycie and Jaymie, brother Todd (Lori) and son Jordan, brother-in-law Dean (BJ), as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Chad was predeceased by his father William Conrad, his father and mother-in-law Ken and Nelda Walls and brother-in-law Daren Walls, as well as Elmer and Betty Conrad, Vee Lowry and Fay Bosch.
Chad was born in Taber, Alberta, the youngest of three boys. He was involved in many sports growing up including hockey, swimming, diving and skiing. He also enjoyed riding horses and helping his dad on the family farm and ranch.
Chad was an active and respected member of the Canadian Ski Patrol – Southern Alberta Zone (CSP-SAZ) for the last 28 years and was very involved with First Aid On Snow Training competitions. Chad, Kim and Justin enjoyed many weekends skiing on Castle Mountain while Chad was ensuring the slopes were safe.
He finally found his passion when he acquired his pilots license for PPG (paramotoring) spending countless hours enjoying the sport. He made many friends along the way, both on the snow and in the air.
A 2008 graduate of the Lethbridge College - Electrician Apprentice program, Chad returned to the Polytechnic as an instructor in September 2024.
His biggest joy and greatest accomplishment were his family. Chad will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, sense of humor and adventurous spirit.

Very sorry to hear about Chad's passing. I'll never forget my first patient transport at Castle- Chad helped me disengage the brake chains and then gave me a speed boost en route the infirmary. He didn't take the call away from a rookie- he helped me finish it. Or the time he helped me practice tree skiing and told me how much he hated tree skiing the whole time. He would act tough but the moment you needed a hand he was there. Rest in Peace.
Our sincerest condolences to Chad's family and friends. We will never forget the countless hours on the snow with you and laughter in the patrol hut. You taught us well, Chad. Castle and CSP won't be the same without you.
We were very saddened, to hear of Chad's passing. We remember him and his brothers, from their hockey days, they were exceptional players! Sending our deepest condolences, to the whole Family! Sincerely Cheryl DeBona and Family

Losing Chad feels like losing a piece of the sky itself. He lived with the same spirit of freedom and adventure that defines us all as pilots. I’ll always treasure the memories and the bond we shared. Sending love and prayers to Kim and family ….. blue skies forever my friend.
You are already missed my friend. Such a hospitable and welcoming person. Chad never hesitated to stop and help people in need. This year he was on his way to join us at Carbon for a spring flight. Chad stopped to help at a motorcycle accident and stayed with the rider and comforted him as he passed away. I am very honored to have known you Chad am grateful for the time we spent together.
So many great times together over so many years! Even though we grew apart, it never took much to catch back up! Condolences to Kim, Justin and the rest of your family and friends, you will definitely be missed.
