Chartrand, Patricia Lenore
Patricia "Pat" Chartrand passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. She was born to Andrew and Hazel McLachlan on the family farm east of Coutts, AB where she was raised. She went to live with Hugh and Jo in Trail, BC during high school and then returned to Coutts where she married Clifford Larson and they raised their 5 children. Pat was very involved in sports. Over the years she enjoyed baseball, bowling, basketball, golf and even helped at the CouttsGrass Rodeo. Pat was a hard worker and held many different jobs over the years. She enjoyed managing the El Coyote Inn and made many friends there and also met her husband John. The two were married in August of 1982. They went on to manage the A1 truckstop for a time and shared their lives together for 25 years before his passing. Patricia loved working in the yard and was an incredible gardener. She took pride in her home and created a space where everyone felt welcome. She loved spending time with her family. After John's passing, she lived with daughter Sharla, with whom she was especially close.

It was with great sadness to learn of Pat's passing. She will be remembered fondly by all and wish I could have made the funeral. My memories of Pat include being Pauline's mom, a person I was able to get to know better when I played baseball with for a couple years. Pat was always kind to me and I enjoyed as a child being in your home. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Hugs, Mary Anne Trenker Desmeules
Thinking of you during this difficult time. My favorite memory of your mom was playing ball. She was energetic, fun and competitive. It was always a great game win or lose. When you speak of her, speak not with tears, for thoughts of her should not be sad. Let memories of the times you shared give you comfort, for her life was rich because of you." Author Unknown
Although we will not be able to be in Canada, our hearts will be with all of our family. Pat was a special person, and an awesome grandmother. Pat will be remembered always. Our prayer to my brothers and sisters as we greave a great loss.
