EMMA THERESA CHENGER, (née Gonczy), went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 24, 2020, at the age of 102 years.
EMMA THERESA CHENGER, (née Gonczy), went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 24, 2020, at the age of 102 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Byron (Marion) and Kevin (Brenda), six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, one sister, Dolores Horvath, as well as nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by two sons, Barry Patrick and Leslie L. Jr.
Emma was an original staff member of the Lethbridge Family Service after the amalgamation of the Lethbridge Family Bureau and Catholic Family Services. She retired in 1983 after 17 years. She enjoyed her love of oil painting and traveling, but nothing made her happier than time spent with her family and her church. She became a 60-year charter member of St. Basil's C.W.L. in 2010.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Deacon Bill Young officiating. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, kindly RSVP your attendance to Cornerstone. Seating will be limited to 100 guests. Facemasks are mandatory and will be available upon entry. Emma will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery.
