EUGENE CHMELYK, beloved husband of Tilly Chmelyk, of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael's Health Centre - Palliative Care Unit on Monday, November 21st, 2016 at the age of 66 years.
EUGENE CHMELYK, beloved husband of Tilly Chmelyk, of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael's Health Centre - Palliative Care Unit on Monday, November 21st, 2016 at the age of 66 years.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by Germaine Collett of Brooks, Jaimy (Nathan) Sawatzky of Langley, B.C. , Kody Chmelyk of Wetaskawin, Carrie Lortie of Brooks, James (Sylvia) Stroeve of Lethbridge, Dennis (Tracey) Stroeve of Lethbridge and Kathy (Jeff) Skretting of Lethbridge. Eugene is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one brother Rudy Chmelyk.
He was predeceased by his parents Yakym & Nancy.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME - 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB. on Thursday, November 24th, 2016 from 12:00 - 12:45 P.M. A Graveside Service will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be held at the MIZ CITY CHURCH - 502 13th Street North, Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, November 24th, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Daniel Zopoula officiating.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Bridges of Hope - 2825 F 2 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0G8.

My sincere condolences to Eugene's family and friends. Was shocked to hear the news of his passing. I Had the pleasure of working with and getting to know Eugene at Brooks Farm Centre. He was a concious and dedicated worker. Really nice guy and a Great person. He was well liked by everyone there.Always had time to stop and visit when meeting in public. He will be missed.God speed my friend..

We didn't get to know Eugene's family, but we enjoyed his sense of humour and big heart. He loved God and cared about others, and we could tell. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Tilley, and all the "kids".
We are saddened to hear of Eugene's passing. He was an active member of our church in Brooks in many ways. We thank God for Eugene's time with us, and his strong faith. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. God bless you all.

My deepest sympathy is extended to all of his family. He was a dear friend who served those around him with selfless love, joy and faithfulness.
