Ivan, I cried when heard the news. You have been with me for 71 years. We were born 5 days apart at the Two Hills Hospital. My mom taught us both in grade 1. We met again in University where we both earned our Civil Engineering Degrees. At age 21, wearing blue jeans and a degree in our back pockets we set out to make our stamp on the world. We did just that. Cicon Engineering helped build Canada.....and you were Cicon. You have been a light in my life for all of these years and I thank you.

So sorry to hear of Ivan's passing. I met this amazing man at U of A so long ago yet my memories of him are quite vivid. He was a good soul and not surprised of his request that in his memory to plant trees etc. I am sad to have not seen him after UofA. Heart breaking.

Dear Sandy and family, We were deeply saddened to hear of Ivan's passing. He was our Engineer for our Crocus Meadows development and was so much help. He was a gentleman and always showed up when he said he would even though it was a two hour drive for him. We shared wine, your Christmas treats, and stories around our kitchen table many times. We bought humanely raised beef from you both. He spoke of his family with so much love. I am sorry we cannot be with you to celebrate your husband and father, but we are so much better for having met him. Our sincere condolences to you and your loved ones.

For over 15 years, I worked for Ivan as a surveyor. I have first started as a rod person and ended up as his field supervisor. Meanwhile we became friends. Ivan was a very hard working person, and I was very proud to work for him. From coast to coast no matter what, we were there.. Thank you boss !! Repose en paix mon ami,
