Send a Tribute

CHRISTOPHER PEARSON of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Beverley Pearson, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the age of 57 years. Besides his loving wife Bev, Chris is survived by his parents Jacqueline and John Skiba, brothers; Fred Pearson (children Katina and Loren), Wes Skiba (Ledean), (children Coral, Paige and Reed) and Randy Skiba. Chris was born in Lethbridge and was raised on a farm from age 11. He loved Air Cadets, Boy Scouts and sports including basketball and track and field, which he excelled in. He was also a member of 4H and excelled in public speaking and was valedictorian of his high school class at Kate Andrews in Coaldale. After graduating, he loved sports cars and participated in slalom and rally racing throughout the province and was part of the Lethbridge Sports Car Club. But most people at this time probably knew him best as an avid skier. He worked hard in spring, summer, and fall but his winters were dedicated to being on the ski hill, mostly at Castle Mountain (formerly Westcastle) and Fernie. He was very well liked on and off the ski hill. People often commented on his graceful skiing and friendly nature. In 1979 Chris met Bev, the love of his life, while at Castle Mountain Ski Resort. Chris and Bev were married in December, 1981, and spent 27 inseparable years together. They always felt they were the richest people in the world knowing they had each other. During those years, they lived in Lethbridge, Moose Jaw and Kelowna. Chris belonged to the Fort Whoop- Up Black Powder club, and had an interest in guns, motorcycles, camping, hiking, photography, electronics and computers. In Memory of Chris there will be a gathering for family and friends at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, March 13, 2009, from 2 to 4 P.M. to celebrate Chris’ life. In memory of Chris donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
