Claudine Crook
Claudine will be terribly missed and lovingly remembered by her mother Suzanne Hul, her mother-in-law Edna Crook, her son Chris (Ola) and their children: Evelette and William of Pincher Creek, and her daughter Amanda and her children: Eady and Leela (aka Alex) of Lethbridge and her brother and sisters in-law and extended family.
Claudine will be terribly missed and lovingly remembered by her mother Suzanne Hul, her mother-in-law Edna Crook, her son Chris (Ola) and their children: Evelette and William of Pincher Creek, and her daughter Amanda and her children: Eady and Leela (aka Alex) of Lethbridge and her brother and sisters in-law and extended family.
Claudine was predeceased by her father Rafael Hul and father-in-law William “Bill” Crook.
Claudine was born in Belgium and moved to Canada as a teenager, where her family began ranching in Pincher Creek, Alberta. At that time, her future husband, John, lived in the neighbouring farm up the hill. Their beautiful life together flourished as they met on that hill between the two farms.
Claudine graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Education. After John and her had their first child, Chris, she began caring for children out of her own home. When Amanda was born, she wanted to continue caring for children and decided to start a community of support for like-minded childcare educators. That was when Hemel House Childcare was started in 1982. Through that business, she served and supported thousands of Lethbridge families and educators, and the business remains a staple in the community 40 years later. Her bright light will continue to shine through her community and family. She made a difference everywhere she went, and she continues to inspire us all even after death. Her kindness and infectious positivity knew no bounds.
Claudine lovingly cared for her husband as he began his battle with dementia and continued to support him as he moved into professional care at Sunny South Lodge. There, she began volunteering by sharing drumming, her beloved Laughter Yoga, and her charming joy with the residents.
Claudine was a dedicated wife, strong mother, amazing grandmother, and a wondrous educator, friend, peer, and a force of pure joy and light.
Together, Chris, Amanda and their families formally invite you to a Celebration of Claudine’s Life, that will be held at the LETHBRIDGE & DISTRICT EXHIBITION, 3401 Parkside Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating.
Please wear bright and beautiful colors as to represent Claudine and the wonderful woman that she will always be.
For those unable to attend, the Celebration of Claudine’s Life will be livestreamed and available to view on Claudine’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Amanda, and the rest of Claudine's family I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know how much your mom meant to you. She was an incredible woman and has left a tremendous legacy in the child care world. I know you have so many memories of wonderful times with her to sustain you. I will always remember her no nonsense approach and her commitment to providing the best possible environment for children to thrive. Sending you prayers and hugs.

To all the family especially Amanda and Chris and their kids, Your mom (grandma) was without a doubt the most amazing person and friend. She was talented in many ways and exemplified Love. When I visited with her just days before…. she told me how Very proud she was of all of you. She was not scared of leaving and I believe God has called an Angel back as her job was done here on earth.
I'm so sorry to hear of Claudines passing. I had the privilege of meeting her when I was running my dayhome a while back.. She was so kind, patient, and just radiated joy. Rest in peace, Claudine.

I have so many fond memories of time spent with Claudine whilst working as a Dayhome Provider with Hemel House and also taking courses with her at LCC. She had a strong passion for life , and dedicated 100% of herself in all she did. I feel blessed having known her and saddened by her passing .
Amanda, I am so sorry for you loss of your mom. She truly was a warrior and a visionary. She was one of the first to set the bar for quality child care in Lethbridge. I met her long before my own time in child care and had great respect for her always. She has passed on to you her knowledge and commitment to providing the best possible care and teaching for children. Know that she will continue to walk with you and that she is so proud.
Oh I'm so heartbroken to hear of Claudine's passing. I only knew her online with Rhythm Bliss drum group but her light was bright. Her joy and playful enthusiasm contagious! I pray for her peaceful journey into the great heart pulse of universal love and send love to all those who love her - to those who are grieving for the loss of her presence here in body. I knew Claudine through her participation in the Rhythm Bliss online drumming group. The videos and posts she shared on the Rhythm Bliss Facebook page were always remarkable in their honesty, courage and creativity. She shared videos depicting her drumming with her husband, displaying an exceptional ability to connect lovingly with him despite his dementia. Claudine exemplified humanity at its best. She carried the sun inside her, she radiated with positivity, and she sprinkled joy, light and goodness in her wake. I am grateful to have known her.
I will always remember fondly Claudine’s dedication to her family here in Canada, in Belgium and the many, many families she served in Lethbridge.
A beautiful light is gone from our midst. Claudine was the personification of love and acceptance. Always there with a lesson to teach or learn with a smile. She left this world in a way very few people ever do; with the love, thanks and gratitude of her chosen tribe. I will always cherish the time we spent together. Rest easy my friend, you are finally free from pain and dusease.
