JOSEPH "JOE" WARREN CURTIS, beloved partner of Bobbi Rector of Calgary, and father to Tony Curtis of Coaldale and Tara Vucurevich of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully in Calgary on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 at the age of 72 years.
JOSEPH "JOE" WARREN CURTIS, beloved partner of Bobbi Rector of Calgary, and father to Tony Curtis of Coaldale and Tara Vucurevich of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully in Calgary on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 at the age of 72 years.
Joe is survived by his children: Tony (Megan) Curtis and Tara (Kevin) Vucurevich along with his grandchildren: Brody and Mackenzie Curtis, Mila and Nikki Vucurevich, his partner Bobbi Rector and her family, his sisters Francis (Hugh) Ingram and Pat Ellis, his niece and nephews, his ex wife Omray Curtis, and many friends.
He is predeceased by his Father, Francis (Frank) Curtis and his Mother, Clara Curtis.
A Service of remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 - Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Thursday, March 29th, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Erin Phillips.
Many thanks to the South Health Campus Emergency Room and Unit 66 for the outstanding care provided Joe in his last few days. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the South Health Campus, 4448 Front Street S.E., Calgary, AB, T3M 1M4.

Dear Curtis Family , I was very saddened to hear the news of Joes's passing. Please except my sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. I wanted to share with you a poem I received when my brother Rudy passed away that was written for me by a close friend. "When I must leave you for a little while, please do not grieve and shed wild tears, and hug sorrow to you through the years, but start out bravely with a gallant smile, and for my sake and in my name, live on and do all things the same, feed not on your loneliness on empty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways, reach out your hand in comfort and cheer and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near, and never, never be afraid to die, for I am waiting for you in the sky, do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not Die." Joe was a special neighbour of ours in Calgary, he was always willing to help us in anyway he could. You will be missed Joe, our dear friend. May you RIP, you are now pain free, but we know you are watching over your loved ones.
