Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Joann (John); grandmother, Elizabeth Pettis; brother, Alexander (Cassandra); sister, Kaitlin (Andrew); niece Aubrey; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Dion was predeceased by his father, David McKenzie; grandfather Samuel McKenzie; grandmother Ada McKenzie and grandfather Herbert Pettis.
Dion grew up in Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland, where he developed a great fondness of the outdoors. He loved hunting, trapping and fishing. Dion was full of energy and had an adventurous spirit. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Katie, my condolences go out to you. You were the love of his life. You were all he ever talked about! Anytime I saw him, he would say, "I have to go call my fiancé" Remember the great times you had together, he will always be in your heart. Rest in paradise Dion. I hope you know how much your brothers and sisters at the center cared about you. My condolences to his family as well, a young beautiful life gone too soon.
