Besides her husband “Curly”, she was predeceased by her mother Vergie, father Alexander, stepmother Helen, and sister Faye.
Doreen was born in Macleod, and raised in Lethbridge, where she resided until her passing. Our beloved mother was left on her own to raise her sons from ages 4 – 14, and she sacrificed everything for us. Although she had been a stay-at-home mother, she then had to become employed to provide for her family. Doreen was employed for nearly 25 years in a health care facility, where she enjoyed helping to care for the elderly.
Her greatest love was spending time with her sons and their families. She loved camping & hiking, gardening, and just spending time outdoors, sewing, golfing and playing cards with the family. She loved travelling and taking pictures of her travels. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tim Klein officiating.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation (crhfoundation.ca) or a charity of one’s choice.

Doreen & i worked together at the seniors home where she had worked for many years. She was my mentor there and was such a warm, caring and funny lady.
My deepest condolences to all Doreen's family.
I have wonderful memories of Doreen and Curly going with my mom (Connie) and day (Alex) to the legion or Miners Club to dance. They were my parents best friends and I stayed friends with Doreen after Curley departed, and my mom and dad went as well. She was a lovely, quiet, caring person and a treasure to be around. She will be greatly missed.
Sending our thoughts of sadness to Doreens families. I knew Doreen and Curly for many years, doing the garage sales, stopping in for a visit in later years. I will miss this friendly, kind lady.
Doreen’s 5 sons should be so proud of their wonderful, perfect, kind, hardworking mother. What a perfect (in every way) woman. Rest in peace you beautiful soul. Xx
