Egland, Lorne Robert

LORNE ROBERT EGLAND, of Shaughnessy, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the age of 52 years.

Lorne is survived by his father, Allan Egland, sister Linda (Blair) Egland-Dyck and brother Brian (Christine) Egland. He is also survived by his paternal family: Aunt Elaine Odegard and her children Grant (Colleen Hankinson) and Carolyn (Russ) Wlad; maternal family, Sheila (Gail) Alcock, Nadine (Roger) Skretting, Boyd (Sharon) Dunn and Danny Dunn as well as many extended family members.

Lorne was predeceased by his mother, Sharon Such; grandparents Richard (Hazel) Egland, Dale (Lena) Dunn and uncle Arnold Odegard.

Lorne was born on March 7, 1965, in Carmangay, and was raised on the family farm east of there. Lorne attended school in Carmangay, Champion and Vulcan. He graduated from Agriculture Technology at Lethbridge College and later received his Auctioneer License and helped Dad with sales and charity auctions. He worked in the agriculture industry most of his life on the family farms, feedlots and hauling cattle. In his youth, he enjoyed fishing, camping and motorcycles.

Lorne's family extends thanks to everyone for their phone calls, car rides, flowers and their love and support. A special thank you to Travis and the staff of Cornerstone Funeral Home as well as the first responders from Picture Butte.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:00 P.M.

A Family Interment was held prior to the Service at the Bowville Cemetery.
