Born on September 8, 1933, in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Frieda grew up on a farm with her parents, Robert and Eva Hack. She had fond memories of her childhood, including harnessing horse team and learning music with her father. In 1951, Frieda met her beloved husband, Maurice, whom she married on June 20, 1952. Together, they raised two sons, Sydney and Michael, and cherished their role as grandparents to Erik, Paul, and Emily, as well as great-grandmother to Sienna.

She had fond memories of her childhood, including harnessing horse team and learning music with her father. In 1951, Frieda met her beloved husband, Maurice, whom she married on June 20, 1952. Together, they raised two sons, Sydney and Michael, and cherished their role as grandparents to Erik, Paul, and Emily, as well as great-grandmother to Sienna.

Frieda was a devoted homemaker, known for her baking, hospitality, and community involvement, including volunteering at senior care homes and supporting various charitable causes. Her love for music and dance brought joy to her life, as she participated in the Pioneer Pemmican Club and local music groups.

Frieda leaves behind her son Michael (Judith Valois), grandsons Erik (Haleigh) and Paul (Emma), granddaughter Emily, great-granddaughter Sienna, and her younger sisters, Margaret and Rose. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice (2020), her son Sydney (1994), as well as her seven older siblings.

Frieda’s legacy of love, laughter, and family will forever be cherished by all who knew her.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2825 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. Pastor Barb Roycroft officiating.

Frieda will be laid to rest in Bowville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society (biblesociety.ca).

I am so sorry to hear of your passing auntie Frieda. I remember so many wonderful memories as a kid, of our families visiting and enjoying every minute. You were always so kind, chatty, funny, and such a good host. You were an inspiration to me as a young woman. You will be missed.
