She was born March 15, 1954 in Edmonton, AB where she spent her childhood. Peggy attended NAIT and graduated in 1976 as a dental assistant. She met and married Bill Handsaeme on February 28, 1976 the morning after a true prairie snow storm. Peggy's love for God's word moved her to be baptised as a Christadelphian on December 4, 1978. Her bible readings, Sunday morning worship meetings, and yearly bible schools were the foundation of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who selflessly served her family and others. She now sleeps in Christ and waits for the glorious day of resurrection.
Peggy was also survived by her children: Cindy (Paul) Aback, son Benjamin and daughter Beth; Jeff Handsaeme, son Logan; brothers Tom and Gordon (Lisa); sister Pam (Jon); sisters-in-law Betty Snyder, Mary-Ann (Don) Wehlage, Carol-Lynn (Dave) Harker, Carol Smith; brothers-in-law Bob (Nola) Handsaeme, Jerry (Liz) Handsaeme, Jack Handsaeme, Mark (Brenda) Handsaeme, Clair (Carolyn) Handsaeme, Jamie Cox; and numerous nieces and nephews.

I got to know Peggy and her sister Pam these last few years as I looked after their Aunt Olive. I come to admire and respect them both as Godly, family orientated women. We feel the sadness in yours and our hearts today, and our thoughts and prayers have been with you in this difficult time.... "blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" Let it be a comfort to you all that yours and our dear sister, Mom, aunt and wife is awaiting the resurrection... Martha's words concerning Lazarus: "I know he/she will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. John 11:24-2
