Helen worked at Boylan Drugs in Medicine Hat, with my mom Jessie Tokevich. They worked together for many years. When my mom moved to the coast to live with my family and I Helen and her became pen pals. My mom was an avid letter writer, as was Helen, and receiving a letter in the mail was always a big deal especially when my kids were younger. “It’s a letter from Helen Gunn”, they would yell out, and my mom would always read it aloud. When my mom passed three years ago, Helen continued the tradition writing to me. It really comforted me. A piece of home, it felt like. Periodically we would have phone conversations to catch up as well. I’ll really miss my Medicine Hat connection with Helen. She was so good at staying connected and making you feel remembered ❤️
The time we shared a duplex at One Four will always remain the most memorable time in starting our married life and family. Helen and Chuck were great role models and super neighbours. Their daughters were delightful. I will cherish those fond memories my whole life.
Our condolences to all the Gunn family.
Will be sadly missed by all that knew her. A great friend!
