Heaven gained another farmer! PHILIP (PHIL) HILLMER passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021. Phil, best known as Grandpa was just 11 days away from his 98th birthday.

Phil lived his entire life in Del Bonita Alberta and was second generation in the family farm.  Phil, along with the love of his life Irmgard, worked hard to build the family farm. His dream was that the farm stayed in the Hillmer name and was so proud to see his son Martin and grandsons Keeley and Braeden continue the business. Grandpa's legacy will live on and his stories and memories will be passed on to hopefully the 5th generation one day as well! He will be missed but we know he is in a much better place and reunited with Grandma Irmgard and all the dogs and horses he loved through the years! If you feel some thunder in the next few days, it will simply be Grandpa calling the name 'Tippy' or Peter. He could never remember other names so inevitably the names were very few. The family would like to thank all the caretakers at the Good Samaritan Society Prairie Ridge in Raymond! Your kindness and care was so appreciated!

No funeral will be held. However, we will all celebrate the life he led and the memories we shall all cherish! We know you will be watching over us and riding in the combines or driving through the crops for us! We love you! Martin (Sheila), Keeley (Jessie) Braeden (Alicia).

Heaven has gained a good man. We have many memories of a good neighbor and friend. A man with a wealth of knowledge and stories. He is at peace now. The legacy he has left is something to be proud of. A great family will carry on his memories. Thinking of you all?

Jim & Terry, January 19, 2021

My condolences and prayers to the HIllmer Family. Such a gentleman was Phil. Always up for a good story or two. He had a want to always keep his equipment in showroom condition. He loved the hills and loved the land. His love and caring for Irmgard was exceptional. He has passed his traits on to Martin and family. RIP Phil.

Boyd Folden, January 19, 2021
