Shirley Ann Ivison of Lethbridge, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital surrounded by family on May 15, 2016 at the age of 85 years.

Shirley is survived by her children Bob Ivison of Lethbridge, Kurt (Connie) Ivison of Lethbridge, Lynn (Doug) Myers of Edmonton, and Sandy (Jim) Wolosuk of Vauxhall. She is also survived by her brother Bob (Rosemary) Scurfield of Winnipeg and her grandchildren Chris, Breanna, and Jenna.

Shirley was born in Saskatoon SK on November 23, 1930. She graduated from nursing at St. Paul's hospital in Saskatoon. She worked as a nurse at St. Michaels Hospital and the Lethbridge Auxiliary Hospital.

Mom took great pride in her flower gardens. Planting and growing her flowers was her passion and she looked forward to getting out into the garden every spring. She also loved to play bridge and was involved in many different bridge clubs over the years.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of unit 4C who provided such wonderful care to mom for the past few months. In addition, we would also like to thank Dr. Gibb and the palliative care doctors who cared for her.

As per mom's wishes, no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to YWCA Harbour House, 604 - 8 Street South, Lethbridge AB, T1J 2K1.

I live one street over from Shirley in Parkbridge Estates and when I stopped in to see her she would show me her beautiful garden. That garden, and her family, was her life. Precious moments will always be in your hearts.

Nancy Thorburn, May 23, 2016

My deepest sympathy to you all. I first met your mother when we were visiting our grandmothers in Carnduff, Sask. and she wrote the following message in my Autograph book: April 19,1941:";By hook or by crook I'll be the last in your book." Your friend, Shirley Scurfield. The second contact was in Prince Albert, Sask., when your parents were patients of the dentist that I worked with. And lastly our connection was with Lethbridge Community College. So many memories!

Your mom was a wonderful friend of our moms (Jean Robinson) and neighbour to all us Robinson kids. Remember many good coffee visits, and her beautiful gardens. Our thoughts and condolences are with you all.

Linda Williams (Robinson), May 20, 2016

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I enjoyed working with Shirley for many years at the auxiliary haspital and we had many laughs together.
