Ken is survived by his daughter, Carol (Irv) Quan of Lethbridge; sons: Ken (Jennifer) of Canmore/Kona HI, Keith (Lisa) of Calgary and Lyle (Alecia) of Lethbridge. He was very proud of his grandchildren: Lauren, Taylor, Mattson, Makayla, Carson, Brendan, and Brady. He is also survived by his sister Alice of Oregon and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Besides his loving wife, Phyllis, of 63 years, Ken was predeceased by his parents, Alan and Laura; brothers: Bill, Don, Jack; and sisters, Eileen and Elsie.

Ken grew up on the family farm near Tompkins, Saskatchewan during the “dirty thirties”. He worked hard his whole life at everything from farming, to road construction, hauling gravel in his own truck and partnering in a flyer distribution business. He started working for the C.P.R. in 1949 - first as a brakeman and then as a conductor until his retirement March 1, 1987.

Ken was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He loved curling, camping, the Blue Jays, CFL football (especially the Sask. Roughriders and Stampeders). He faithfully attended any sport or activity his kids or grandkids were involved in. Ken could figure out how to fix anything and was always there to help family or friends when there was a job to be done.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers that supported Ken through his last few years. Special thanks to the wonderful people at Norbridge Pharmacy, the hospitalists and palliative care physicians at the Chinook Regional Hospital, the Emergency department and staff of 5B, 4A, 4C. He appreciated you all so much.

At Kenneth’s request, no memorial service will be held. A private family function will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the charity of your choice.
