It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of GREG KESLER, on Monday, February 1st, 2016 at his family's ranch in Magrath, Alberta at the age of 70 years.
He is survived by his loving Wife Judy, Son Duane (Margo), Daughter Berva Dawn(Roy) and his two very special Grandsons Kurtis and Chase.
He was the son of the late Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame inductee Reg Kesler. Greg worked in the family business until he branched out on his own at age 29 to found Kesler Rodeo in 1974.
Greg, a second-generation PRCA stock contractor, achieved 10 World Championship Titles with his horses; Cool Alley, Painted Smile, Alley Ways and Alley Cat during his career. In 1994, Greg and his son, Duane Kesler, bought Reg's card and continued running Kesler Championship Rodeo (founded by Reg in 1950) with Duane at the helm while Greg remained as the owner/operator of Kesler Rodeo. The family has bucking stock in Helena, Montana and Magrath, Alberta.
This past December, Kesler Rodeo sent five bareback horses, one saddle bronc horse and one bull to the Wrangler NFR in Las Vegas.
Kesler Rodeo's Alley Cat was the 1988 PRCA Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year and Painted Smile won that award three consecutive years (2001-03). Country Cat, Order Up, Painted Smile, Cool Alley, and Polka Dot, were all voted the top horses at the WNFR.
A Funeral Service will be held at EXHIBITION PARK - WEST PAVILION, 3401 - Parkside Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with Wayne Brooks officiating.

Uncle Greg was a very important part of my life. When I was young and our family was hit by the death of a father uncle Greg and aunt Judy were there for us. We spent many great times together with horses and ranch and rodeo fun. This is past Christmas, my grand daughter asked uncle Greg if she could come and see his wonderful ranch and meet some of his rodeo horses and maybe even get to go for a ride on one. You will always be cherished Uncle Greg, and your memory will live on for generations to come. Aunt Judy, I am thinking of you and am always here. Duayne, Margo, Bervadawn, Kurtis, and ,Chase, I am so sorry and feel you sorrow. Memories are a wonderful thing to have, and help with healing . I love you all.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers at this time. May he rest in peace. It was a pleasure to have met him and work with him at the KRA when I was still a member until I moved.
