DR. RAYMOND "RAY" A. KIMBERLEY, beloved husband of Lynne, passed away suddenly at home with his wife at his side.
Ray is survived by his loving children: Nicholas (Joan), Adrian (Leslie), Jane (Rob) and Mark (Paula), and grandchildren: Julia, Tristan, Kieran, Cole, Emma, Megan, Connor, Rhys and Will. He is also survived by extended family in England.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Roy, and beloved twin sister Rona.
Ray graduated from Birmingham Medical School England in 1961. He emigrated to Canada in 1969 and practised at the Haig Medical Clinic until his retirement.
A dedicated and compassionate family physician, he was much loved by his patients. He had strong clinical and diagnostic skills and always went the extra mile. He had special interests in palliative care and geriatrics. Ray was instrumental in setting up the Palliative Care Program in Lethbridge. He was also very involved in both Lethbridge and Alberta's medical communities. Ray received Alberta's Family Physician of the Year award in 1999.
Ray was a man of great humour, no nonsense, was superb company and truly enjoyed life. He was a real Renaissance man; artist, carpenter, gardener, pianist and he developed great culinary skills after he retired. He will also be remembered for his dapper sense of style, love for his dogs, and loyalty to his friends and family.
Ray was a true English gentleman and had a life well-lived and well-loved.
At Ray's request, there will be no funeral service, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations can be made in his name to the Lethbridge Humane Society (lethbridgehumanesociety.com).

I want to send best wishes to the family. It takes a very special family to support a wonderful, caring doctor. Dr. Kimberely was always willing to help whoever needed it, no matter their age, or what time of day. He was a special man, and will be missed.
My sincere condolences for your loss. I met Dr. Kimberley when he first came to Haig Clinic from England and worked with him until he retired. He was a very special person who not only was an excellent doctor but genuinely cared for his patients. He was also a very good "boss" at the clinic and was appreciated by all our staff. He had many interests and shared his gardening skills with us too! It is with great sadness that I heard of his passing.
