KIRSTEN “KRIS” PROCTOR, age 63, loving stepmother to Taylor-Jane Jackson and adoring wife to David Proctor, passed away peacefully on the evening of November 27, 2025, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Kirsten had a lifelong passion for music and a joyful appreciation for just about every genre under the sun. If it had a beat—or even if it didn’t—she’d find a way to tap her foot to it. A talented musician, she gravitated toward percussion, and in her younger years she proudly held down the rhythm section as the drummer in a local band. Kris continued to play the drums and other instruments throughout her life, filling her home (and occasionally the neighbours’ homes) with a soundtrack that was unmistakably hers. Her playful energy behind a drum kit was matched only by her willingness to teach anyone who showed the slightest interest—whether they asked for a lesson or not.

After long, busy careers in Toronto, Kris and David made the bold and exciting decision to retire early and set off on a new adventure together in Alberta. Trading city noise for mountain breezes, they embraced their new lifestyle with wide-open hearts. The Rockies quickly became their playground. Whether camping, hiking, stargazing, or simply enjoying a thermos of coffee with a view, Kris found deep joy in every fresh trail and every quiet moment. She loved the slower pace, the crisp air, and most of all, the countless experiences she shared with David and their little pup, Henley, as they explored the beauty around them.

Their love for each other grew stronger every day—visible, genuine, and contagious. Together they formed wonderful new friendships, creating a warm circle of people who were drawn to their kindness, humor, and open-armed approach to life. Kris had a gift for making others feel welcome, seen, and loved. Her quick wit, sense of mischief, and vibrant laugh made her the kind of person people never forgot.

She touched many hearts and will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Her spirit—lively, loving, and endlessly curious—will continue to inspire those who knew her.

May she rest in peace, and may her rhythm live on in all of us.

A Celebration of Kris’ life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Lee Loveridge officiating. The Celebration will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Kris’ obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Goodbye Aunt Kris. Gone way too soon, rest in peace.

Leanna Bailey, December 19, 2025

David I cannot say how sad I am for you at the loss of Krys. I have fond memories of her as a colleague - her wonderful smile, her gorgeous red hair and I remember how smart she was. But most of all, I remember the joy that you found when you found each other. I know that she made your life immeasurably better - as you did for her. While it is hard to see through the pain now - know that you are incredibly lucky to have found someone who you truly love and who truly loved you. It is a rare treasure.

David - I have so many font memories of Kris and you together in the office. I know how much you loved each other and the more you love the harder it is to realize she is gone. Praying the memories the fun and laughter will hold and sustain you in the days to come

Dear Dave, I’m so very sorry to learn of Kris’ passing. Her smile lit up a room and her laughter was full of joy. I remember her love of music and the focus when she played drums. May she rest in peace and you find comfort in wonderful memories.
