GEORGE E. LEMKE, of Lethbridge, Alberta, beloved husband, of wife Irma Lemke (née Pankonin), passed away at Park Meadows Good Samaritans in Lethbridge on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the age of 87 years.
GEORGE E. LEMKE, of Lethbridge, Alberta, beloved husband, of wife Irma Lemke (née Pankonin), passed away at Park Meadows Good Samaritans in Lethbridge on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the age of 87 years.
George is survived by his four daughters, Susan (Gordon) Beyer, Judy (Bernd) Thom, Ruby (Blair) Bannerman and Evelyn (Ian) Entwhistle; eight grandchildren: Maxine, Tristan, Brittany, Karessa, Anthony, Taylor, Kyle, Cole, and one great-granddaughter, Lexus.
George was predeceased by his sister Ursula, his mother-in-law Natalie, his mother Sophie and his father Max.
George was born in Poland on May 10, 1935 and emigrated to Canada in 1952 where he married the love of his life, Irma, in 1961.
George was a gentle, kind and reserved man who enjoyed woodworking and gardening after retiring from construction and mixed farming.
A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Patrick Siedlecki officiating. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed through George's obituary on the Cornerstone website.
George will be laid to rest privately in Archmount Cemetery.
