Roy was born and raised in Lethbridge, attending St. Mary’s School, St. Francis Junior High, and Catholic Central High School. He went on to obtain his teaching certification at the University of Lethbridge.
Roy was a teacher, beginning his career at John Dor Prairie, Alberta, then expanding his travels, where he taught at International Schools in the following countries: Taiwan, Guatemala, Egypt, Kuwait, Honduras, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.
He loved all sports, especially golfing with his dad, nephews, and family members.
Roy loved to fish and spent many hours with close friends fishing at Duck Lake in Montana.
Roy had a special skill of cooking and gardening. He was a great chef in the kitchen, making many delicious meals, with his specialities being cabbage rolls and butter tarts. He had a green thumb, grew tomatoes and peppers of all kinds, and was kind and generous to share with family members, friends and neighbours.
At Roy’s request, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of life for family will be held at a later date.
Please enjoy a game of golf, an outing to fish with friends, or a kind deed for a neighbour in remembrance of Roy.
