Lizee, Debbie
Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.
Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.
It is with great sadness that the family of Debbie (née McDowell) Lizee announce the passing of our mom, nana, sister, auntie and friend in Lethbridge, AB at the age of 56.
She was born November 14, 1966 in Drumheller, AB and lived the majority of her life in Southern Alberta. Debbie was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Ferguson and father, Trevor McDowell.
Our Mom was an indomitable spirit who lifted the lives of her family and friends. A loving nana who cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and her many beloved pets, whom she drew great comfort from. Left to mourn her passing are her three children: daughter, Ashley (David) Court, grandsons Daxton, Kaiden & Maddox; daughter, Meagan (Joey McCloud) Lebsack, granddaughters Breely and Nevaeh, grandson Kase; son, David (Melissa) Ewing, grandchild Andy and grandson Tyrion; siblings; Margaret (Frank) Kast, Leslie Hudson (Rob Goldade) and Trevor (Tammy) Ferguson; and her stepdad, Clare Ferguson along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Although Debbie's health was failing in her final years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her desire for life and love for her grandchildren were the spark that kept her pushing through the pain. Despite these challenges, Mom was a trusted and much-loved source of support and friendship to her friends and family.
She will be missed greatly by all those who loved her in this life.
Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. The Celebration of Life will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Debbie's obituary on the Cornerstone website.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Debbie, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association (ablung.ca)

Her passing was on my birthday, we now share this special day (April 19th) one for celebration of birth, the other for celebration of life. She was the best Nana I could ever know. She cared, loved, she fighted even if she may not of had much in her. I will forever miss her, and love her.
My thoughts are with all of you. Take the good memories forward with you, hold them tight and recall them often. They will be your best strength going forward. Hugs to you all!
