Lorna is also survived by two special friends that she regarded as “sisters", Wendy Boechler (the daughter of George and Carol McKill of Richmond, BC, who fostered Lorna for several years in the 1960s) and Tanja Selk, who Lorna met in 2020 while in the hospital recovering from major surgery.

She was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Mangel (2013); brother, Randy Mangel (2016); and her father, Robert Riedlinger (2022).

Lorna was a kind and considerate person. She dealt with each adversity with a fierce determination, to recover while maintaining her quiet dignity and her great sense of humour.

Her family and friends will dearly miss her.

At Lorna’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation (kidney.ca) or a charity of your choice.

Cremation entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home.

I am going to miss you big sister! I carry you in my heart forever! You were always there for me and I tried to be there for you. You were always so understanding and caring with your family and everyone you met! I carry with me now all the memories of the fun we had as kids putting on plays and exploring the neighbourhood, being teenagers when you loved to rearrange the furniture and then when you were a young mom! I watched you being a mom as Tabitha grew up and became a wonderful young woman, You were such a great mom with so much love and patience for your child. You fought all your life to remain here with Ron and Tabitha. The battle is over dear sister and although it hurts now I know all the memories that I have will bring me and your family in the future. I am so glad you were able to see all those milestones you told me you wanted to see and even more than you had envisioned! Rest In Peace my beautiful sister! My love and condolences to Ron and Tabitha.
