Max is survived by his devoted wife Shirley, and their children: Kit (Barb) Davies of Calgary, Tad (Debra) Davies of High River, and Lon Davies of Lethbridge. Max leaves behind a proud legacy through his 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter Debbie and his brother Kevin.

Born on September 4, 1939, in Claresholm, Alberta, Max was the beloved son of Charles Nowlin Davies and Cora Zylpha Davies.

Max spent his formative years in Lethbridge, where he forged lifelong friendships—bonds that have endured for over 70 years. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Shirley Dianne, and together they raised four children: Debbie, Kit, Tad, and Lon.

Over the years, Max built a fulfilling career in transportation safety within the cartage and oilfield industries. Known for his integrity and strong work ethic, he left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

Max had an easygoing nature and a gift for storytelling. Always quick with a joke or a playful tease, he brought joy and laughter to those around him. His sense of humour was matched only by his deep love for his family, with whom he cherished every moment.

Max will be remembered for his warmth, wit, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. His stories, laughter, and love will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will held at the HOLIDAY BOWL BANQUET HALL – 2825 2 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.

My deepest condolences to Shirley and Family. Max and I worked together at H&R Transport, doing claims and accidents. The best time was when we shared an office together and he told all kinds of stories and jokes, never a dull moment with that man. He will be missed.

Please except my condolences for Max passing. I worked with Max at H and R Transport. I always enjoyed being around him. He was honest and a very professional person. He will be missed for his professional attitude and knowledge of trucking.

Shirley and Family, Max was one of a kind and I will always cherish the stories he would recant to me over the years talking about driving truck for H&R Transport through the mountains. Had many hours of pure laughter as Max could tell a story better than most and when he would be getting close to the punch line he would be laughing so hard that I would be laughing at him as much as the story itself! He helped me out many times as I was learning the business while at Nowsco and then came over to Trican and kept us on the straight and narrow running our new business. He knew the business very well and was a great ambassador and represented both company's to a very high professional level. A couple of winters ago, I was leaving Calgary to pick up some parts in Lethbridge so decided to call Max and we talked until I was in Kenworth's parking lot in Lethbridge, 2 hours later, and like old times the stories started to fly and it was pure joy! Rose was with me and she was laughing as hard as we were and she had no idea why! That was Max and just a special fellow to me and many others. Cherish the memories as there are just so many. We will miss Max.
