Gunner was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He really loved being goofy with his grandchildren.
Gunner was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on June 19, 1941, to the late Merlin and Melba Crawford. Gunner was raised by his mother, Melba, as a single parent, as his father died in WW2. His father was a gunner in the war, hence his nickname. Melba was remarried in 1953 to Daniel Finnerty. Gunner had a special place in his heart for his grandparents, Peter and Anna Lazzarotto.
For most of his adult life, Gunner worked at Canadian Western Natural Gas, later known as Atco.
Gunner loved his little piece of land and trailer in Pincher Creek, driving out there almost every weekend for decades. His musical tastes varied from Willie Nelson to Elvis. He loved getting together at Aunt Millie and Uncle Ted’s at Christmas and playing crib. He also loved playing sports, broomball, hockey, baseball, and fishing.
Gunner will be remembered for his love of life, his love for his wife Ann, and his love for his family. He will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Gunner’s Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME - 2825 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating.
