Merritt, Diane Mae

DIANE MAE MERRITT passed away peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, at St. Michael's Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, on Monday, August 13th, 2018 at the age of 75 years.

She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 53 years, Michael, her three sons, Kevin (Kathy) of Edmonton, AB, Jeff and Paul, as well as four grandchildren: Jaden (Alexis), Logan (Raven), Chelsea and Piper, all of Lethbridge. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Cathy (Keith) McKellar of Rimbey, AB and Carol (Cliff) Doroshenko of Lethbridge.

Diane was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Pat Capri and her granddaughter, Kennedy.

Diane was very active in various charitable organizations with hundreds of volunteers to help her along the way. At one time, she was the Regional Director for the "Arthritis Society of Canada" and considered her greatest accomplishment, organizing the "Jingle Bell Run".

Diane loved downhill skiing, golfing and playing cards with friends.

Those who were lucky enough to have known Diane, knew she had a zest for life, a wonderful sense of humour, a quick wit and was compassionate and caring toward others.

Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Michael's Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit who treated Diane and our family with care and compassion.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
